I booked the InterContinental on priceline for $75 + tax/fees. So I feel I got a really sweet deal, and can't complain about anything at that price.

The InterContinental is very nice and elegant. Check-in was fast and efficient and they didn't make me feel "small" for using priceline, which was nice. However, my room key didn't work, and I had to trudge back to the desk and wait in line to have that fixed.

I wound up not having dinner since I looked at the menu of the restaurant and didn't see anything that looked appetizing. I was looking for typical fare, rather than cutting edge "fancy" cuisine. But this is just my preference.

The room was very nice, although I was put into a double, with two full-sized beds. This made the room seem smaller, and the bed wasn't very comfortable, due to size and mattress quality. The bathroom is fairly small, but nicely appointed.

Room service in the morning was very good. The food was excellent quality.

Overall, a very nice stay, particularly at the price I paid.

This hotel is about 3 blocks from the Galleria. It's not an easy walk though. Lots and lots of heavy traffic. Rooms and bathrooms are small, but pretty nice. Check in is not too easy as not many people are working the front desk, and they messed up my bill and lost my check, but they found it a little later. Elevators are pretty quick. The meeting rooms are nice and big with plenty of chairs. The restaurant is expensive. It's a pretty nice place to stay--not my favorite.

We booked it through priceline for a total of $180 but when I got there I saw several booking through a company for $135 so I think I could of gotten a better deal.
The hotel was nice, the roomservice good. Nothing outstanding but a good business place. It looked like it was mainly for conventions and big meetings.
We were right across from the galleria so it would be good for a shopping trip as well.

I stayed at the InterContinental for 10 nights whilst visiting my husband who was in Houston on business. Overall, the hotel was nice, modern and clean and a good place to stay if travelling for business.

The hotel is 2 blocks from the Galleria shopping centre, however my husband said not to walk there on account of a colleague of his getting mugged in the laneway that I would have had to walk down. The Houston weather is also so humid you really don't want to walk anyway. Renting a car is a must in Houston, as there's really no other way to get around.

The hotel room was a good size and the bed comfy. The biggest issue was the size of the bathroom....tiny for a 4 star hotel. When getting out of the shower or trying to dry my hair I was practically standing on top of the toilet!

Whilst the hotel was nice, after being there for 3 weeks, my husband decided to move us to an apartment to get some more space.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, though only for short term stays.

You must know that to this date I've been a 2-star guy. La Quinta/Red Roof Inn and the such are where I would always book. I now have a family, and these websites that let you pay over 50% off the normal rates have enabled me to take the plunge.

So now that you know my hotel history, let me say I loved this hotel. My wife and I stayed there and we were in awe. The lobby was huge, live pianist in the lobby, restaurant and bar. Front desk was very nice. Rooms were normal size and furnishings were a higher quality of the things you normally get: oak desks and armoire, etc.

The wetbar was waaayyyy overpriced but we partook in some champagne and Toblerone fun all the same. The parking was expensive ($14/night to self park if I remember correctly). Fitness center was adequate size and equipment was in great condition. Didn't try the pool/jacuzzi. Room service was also expensive but the breakfast we ordered on checkout day was fantastic.

I highly recommend this hotel, we thought it was fantastic, but keep in mind what we're used to.

  • Liked — The complementary robes
  • Disliked — Disapointed to see average-size rooms. Price of parking also.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Be aware of the $14/day SELF-parking fee (valet is available for more), on-site svcs are pricey, location/staff is great!
