“Almost perfect, but downside was pretty serious”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The lobby area was very high class, the conference and ballroom areas were beautiful, the staff was excellent, the fitness center met all my needs for a two-night stay. The downside were the sheets. They felt plastic-like and were very uncomfortable. If you're paying over $200/night, you want to be able to sleep well. I did not sleep well. If it wasn't for the sheets, this place would have been a 9.5/10.

Convenient location to Galleria, in and out highway easily. Rooms are modernly designed, very nice, have motion sensor nightlight at bedside tables. Bathroom does not have a lot of counter space, neat and clean. Good shower and quality amenities. Bottle water is not free. Overall services are OK, not the best.

Last minute room on a crowded work week in Houston they were great to work with and the staff was awsome. Would recommend for any stay work or fun. The room was spacious and clean and the room service was right on time after a long day.

The worse service .... His name is ANTONY !! We couldn't sleep in the hotel because this guy didn't want to tell us our room number after hours ( we forgot our room number after a few drinks lol we were in a wedding party ) he was rude impolite and zero customer service !! Don't stay in there is not worth the money you pay just a little advice for management... Chose wisely when it's about front of the house!! People like Antony will get customers away!!

Dear "narce",
While I can appreciate your frustration, the hotel is very serious about the safety and security of our guests. We have very firm policies both against drinking in public areas after hours, and the requirement to show identification as the registered guest to gain access to a guest room. These policies are intended to keep all of our guests safe and from being needlessly disturbed by others. Cooperation with these policies is required to remain a guest of the hotel.

Best regards

If you are staying in the Galleria area - the Royal Sonesta is a solid option. It's not quite as charming as a boutique hotel (my normal preference), but has more personality than your run of the mill big box chain hotel. On more than one occasion - I've been able to catch a great rate here.

The rooms and amenities are everything you'd expect. The rooms are on the large side and everything feels crisp and clean. Service in all areas of the hotel is professional and friendly. The bar provides a good spot to meet for a drink at the end of a day.

I like the fact they have a self parking option in addition to valet. It's only a couple bucks cheaper, but I like being able to come and go as I please without waiting or calling ahead. The only minor drawback of the hotel is that it's located on the 610 access road and is a bit of a hassle to get in and out. If you are going out in the Galleria area and not doing heavy shopping - walking is not a bad option (and depending on your tolerance for heat and humidity).

Room Tip: Even though it's right on the freeway, I've never had a problem with room noise.

The hotel itself is gorgeous. Really nice. The room was great and very comfortable. Free WiFi and reasonable self parking fee, compared to what other hotels in this class charge for parking. The bar downstairs also serve up some great drinks, but a little on the pricey side. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurants or coffee shop. The gym and pool are on the 5th floor and are pretty nice as well. Plenty of equipment to get a good workout in. Great views of either 610/Houston or the Galleria. With the location being in the middle of everything, it can get a little crazy as far as traffic. The hotel is right on the Westheimer exit, which is the worst. The area is definitely walkable, but might be a little brutal in the Texas heat. It would be easier if there was a way to get through to Post Oak behind the hotel, but it is entirely fenced in so you're forced to walk down the frontage and over down Westheimer. They offer a shuttle for the immediate area, but we tried to use it and were told it would be 30 minutes before they came back, so a little inconvenient there

Room Tip: The gym/pool entrance is at the end of the hallway on the 5th floor so might hear a lot of people tr...
