We stayed at the Intercontinental as our usual place, the Post Oak Hilton was booked. I am traveling for business here so corporate rates determine the location of stay.
I was impressed with this facility. My room was very "Hilton" like. I was on the 15th floor. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very new and had every amenity imaginable. Robe, slippers, magnification mirror (like I want to see anything that close...). I saw a first here in that they provide starch wih the ironing board and iron. Nice touch.
THE GOOD
Water pressure - hard and hot
Cleanliness
High Speed internet is hard line or wireless - fast (fee for service)
Check-in was fast
Elevators are fast and plentiful even at peak AM times
THE NOT SO GOOD
Fee for parking (good garage though - this is expected in the Galleria area)
ICH Rewards Program is weak. Hilton will keep me based on that difference alone
The room service was not very good
No easy coffee/rolls in lobby free or for fee that I could find
For a stay/comfort/cleanliness perspective. I give this place 5 stars which is rare for me. I knock it down because of the room service and rewards program for a hotel of this caliber.
