“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Zelko Bistro is one of my favorite spots in Houston.
The food is consistently great. The last two times I was there I had the Ribeye which is outstanding, the GF had the Salmon both times.
It's almost a shame that the dishes are so good that you crave the same thing on every visit - it makes it hard to ever try a new dish.

“Nice addition to the neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Went on the suggestion of a good friend and was not disappointed. Charming Heights home converted into a restaurant. Nice patio for outdoor seating, when the weather and temps permit. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and found it delicious; my dining companion practically licked the plate with the crabcakes, so they must have been fantastic. Our only complaint: the wines by the glass were a bit pricey. As the other reviewers mentioned, save room for dessert. Not huge portions, but very tasty.

“A must experience, casual yet elegant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Zelko's food is divine. The handsome reconstructed house in the heights area serves really good food in a very handsome atmosphere, down to the begging kitty who sits at your feet and will expect you to treat. Desserts are particularly good, so save room. It is worth looking for on 11th street, it can be easily missed and parking is to the side, but look for it. Service is nice and fast. There is so much to choose from on the menu. It is usually busy with patrons and can be crowded, but that is because it is so tasty.

“Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We found this place through Trip Advisor after the concierge at our hotel tried to send us to Ihop or Cracker Barrel! I love a quaint little cafe for breakfast to enjoy a good cup of coffee and a great meal. This place is it. Only a couple miles off I10 back in a neighborhood. great parking, fast service, unique dishes (captain crunch encrusted chicken and waffles) and some favorites with a yummy twist like the egg samich:) Prices are a little higher for breakfast but portions are good size so you can share. We also had no wait as they have plenty of tables.

“A good find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

From beginning to end, the five in our party enjoyed every bite. We started with the mussels and the cheese block. Everyone was well satisfied with their entree choice: pork chop, meatloaf, short ribs and rib eye. Each one was perfectly prepared. The wines were good, but we wished we could have started with cocktails. Attentive service with patience when we wanted to linger between appetizers and dinner. Very nice.
