This hotel is convenient for business with HP. I've tried them twice and they struck out both times. No third chance from me.
The first time, the internet access was down in my room and I needed it for working after hours. They would not switch me to a different room.
The second time was in Nov '06. I had notified them I would be a late check-in (11p). The room was to be non-smoking. I got my key and hauled my bag up to the room. The room had an overwhelming "air freshener" smell to it and there was an ash tray on the table. I could tell they had tried to deodorize the room. I was so tired that I decided to fix it in the morning.
When I went down the next morning, they apologized and said they would prepare another room for me that evening. I packed my bag after work and went down to the lobby. "I'm sorry. We had to assign the room to people checking in. They had a non-smoking reservation. We don't have anything else available."
I stayed in my smoking room again that night. The next morning, I went down to the desk again... only this time... while I was waiting to speak with the clerk... She was making a non-smoking reservation for one of their rooms checking in THAT NIGHT! I was of course told she could do nothing for me since that was the last non-smoking room they had available.
I told her the manager needed to call me. They had to either put me into a non-smoking room for my last two nights or they would be reserving me a hotel room in another establishment that would provide me with a non-smoking room.
I spoke with the manager and he said he would get me moved. Later, they had called my cell phone (while I was in a training class) and left a voicemail stating that they needed to move my bags to the new room. I did not get the voicemail until after work and the room was "no longer available."
I went to the desk and asked for the mgr again... he was telling me that there was nothing they could do. I repeated that they would be finding me another hotel to stay in.
He then freed up one of the handicap access rooms for me to move into (they had one of their regular clients coming in that liked to use the room, but they would put him somewhere else).
The damn room had a broken phone and the microwave didn't work! I was happier in there, but what a dump!
I was also 7 months pregnate at the time. They were willing to ignor my needs and check other people in to non-smoking rooms since they had reservations... duh, I also had a reservation for a non-smoking room.
