“Just a great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012 via mobile

From check in to the great breakfast, it was all great. The only ding that I give them is the bed, as it wasn't in line with everything else. I am a bed person and appreciate a bed that feels like mine at home and I didn't feel it. It might be great for someone else so you may just have to be your own judge here.

I was able to get a great deal on a two queen and sofa bed suite through Expedia. The room was large, decorated nicely, clean and quite. The rooftop pool was heated, and changed colors at night. The hot tub was very hot and a good size. Lots of lounge chairs and towels. The free breakfast was excellent. There was a hot buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage, grits and cubed potatoes that was very good. There was an amazing made to order omelet station, that also made eggs to order and I saw them make pancakes too. There were fresh melon and pastries. A coffee, juice, milk and tea station. In the evenings there was a manager’s reception that served free drinks and snacks. There was a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert that night, so we weren’t too fond of the type of crowd. Valet parking was very pricy, but the car was in a covered garage and not outside. There were several restaurants that were in walking distance, and the streets were very clean, even though there was a lot of construction. We had a relaxing and fun weekend thanks to Embassy Suites.

My husband and I recently made a business/leisure trip to Houston and stayed here. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Our suite was well appointed, comfortable and quiet.
We travel a fair bit and will highly recommend this hotel to our friends and business associates.
Well done - Customer Service was exemplary!!

Room Tip: Higher floors were very quiet.

This hotel is a great place to stay in proximity to attractions to the downtown area. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very modern and clean. The managers reception was very nicely organized and tasty. The breakfast is really where they hit the mark. Overall I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to the area.

For a convention hotel located in downtown Houston two blocks from the convention centre, this establishment was a winner in my mind. The new Embassy Suites model rooms are delightful, the corridors bright and beautiful. Really like this format for business travel. My daughter will miss the goldfish, fountains, and tripical atrium when we travel as a family, but makes good real estate sense the direction the hotel chain has taken with new models.

By far the best improvement are the bathrooms, spa-like! Check them out on your next visit to Houston!

Room Tip: The manager's reception was by far the best I have seen in an Embassy Suite in years! Breakfast...

The hotel rooms are very nice and its location is good. The views from the one side of the tower is not very good as you overlook a parking lot or power station. The other corners are much better with a beautiful park view. Staff was very good at immediately addressing a security issue that occurred during my stay. Management unfortunately dropped the ball by their unwillingness to reduce the length of my stay. If your staying alone in the hotel I would be very cautious of people coming and going through the hotel to make sure your not being followed to your room. This incident is the reason for my negative ratings listed below. Again the rooms themselves are beautiful and very comfortable. The wait staff for the food service far exceeded expectations.

Room Tip: Make sure your doors are locked at night and be careful. Staff is very helpful. Management is not.

19th floor, quiet, spacious room, nice soap, shampoo, lounge room has table - office style with 3 chairs, complimentary tea, coffee, no biscuits, staff friendly, would stay again - bed super comfy - went to a pub-style show across the road at the house of blues, really entertaining
