I stayed here for 3 nights over the July 4th weekend while visiting a friend interning with NASA. The buildings were well kept, and room was excellent. The hotel was also very secure, with a room key required just to enter the buildings 24/7 (except for the lobby). I stayed in a studio-style suite which consisted of a queen-size bed, sofabed, kitchen, desk and TV; which was more than enough for just myself. Complimentary high-speed internet access was also included. I did not get much use out of the in-suite kitchen (which had a full-size refrigerator and freezer, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware) as I ate every meal out with friends, however this would be a great way to save a bit of money on meals.
The complimentary breakfast offered in the lobby is quite good. The "snack" consists of do-it-yourself waffles, various granola bars, fruit, orange juice, and coffee. This was more than enough of a breakfast for me everyday.
There are numerous restaurants in the area, a few within walking distance. The restaurant across the street usually had a live band playing. I'm not sure if that was a normal occurrence or a special event for the July 4th weekend though. While the band there did play late into the evening, I could not hear them at all from my room (2nd floor, mid-level). All the local restaurants I visited were excellent though, and reasonably priced.
Johnson Space Center is just down the road from this hotel, making this hotel a great choice if you're intending to visit the Space Center. Galveston is about 30 miles away, but a very easy drive.
This was an absolutely excellent hotel, with an excellent room that I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
