I stayed at the Montecito Apartments whilst visiting my husband who was in Houston for business. He moved to the Montecito to get some more space after spending 3 weeks in a little hotel room, and he was very glad that he did.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was clean and very spacious. The was a decent sized kitchen, large fridge, large living area with 2 sofas (though the TV was quite small in size) and a small dining table. The bedroom was a separate room, good in size, but the bed was only a double bed, not a queen, and there was no TV in the bedroom. Then there was a large bathroom, that also featured laundry facilities.
The Montecito is in a good location, very close to the Galleria and nice restaurants. The Montecito has a mix of short term stay apartments and permanent residents.
Beware that the reception is not manned fulltime like at a normal hotel. My husband returned to the Montecito on another trip, arriving at 9pm and the entry code that he was provided wouldn't work. He had trouble getting in contact with the after hours reception people, so had to spend the night elsewhere and couldn't check in to the Montecito until the next day. Not a good start after travelling over 21 hours to get there.
