Having never stayed at a St. Regis hotel before, we really did not know what to expect. Hotel was nice, but not our cup of tea.

Classy, quiet hotel located in a residential area. Rooms at the back of the hotel face train tracks - we heard the train a few times - but really was not a problem. I only mention this because we thought it was odd that a 5-star hotel was built so close to the tracks - a bit strange.

The design of the hotel includes faux balconies - with floor to ceiling windows that are sealed shut - a disappointment as we both enjoy sleeping with the window open.

Small outdoor pool that was not heated - another disappointment.

Shower / tub combo (no separate shower) did not drain well - was standing in water up to my calves!

No ice machines or in-room coffee. Odd how 5 star hotels exclude these necessities. I hate having to call room service for a bucket of ice!

Hotel staff was extremely friendly and professional. Valet remembered my name each and every time.

Was originally built as a Ritz Carlton - I wonder if any thing has changed since being rebranded as a St Regis a few years back.

Stayed at this hotel twice. Both times, I had beautiful, quiet rooms, the most efficient, polite service. The location is good too, close to the galleria and restaurants. A relative bargain.

i have stayed here probably six times over the past twelve months and like the hotel. Staff is very nice, rooms are comfortable and quiet. I have had my family with me on several occasions and they were treated very well also. Better sized rooms than the Houstonian which is in the neighborhood.

We stayed at the Houston St. Regis for 3 nights for a wedding. We had 3 rooms (2 regular rooms and 1 St. Regis Suite that connected to one of the regular rooms). The rooms were all very spacious and beautifully appointed. The bathrooms were also nice and large. The bed was extremely comfortable. All of our rooms had beautiful orchids.
The service at the hotel is wonderful. The staff is very polite and helpful. They would give us bottled water when we got into our car during the day, which we really appreciated during the August heat!

There is a new noise ordinance that went into effect during our stay, so they train that passes near the hotel has to be more quite in the future. I guess this means that the rooms on the train side of the hotel no longer have to worry about the noise.

The pool stayed open all day and night, which was great. We actually used it more at night than during the day.

The only problem we had was that one of our rooms hardly had any hot water in the bathroom sink. The shower was fine, but something was wrong with the sink. We forgot to tell the hotel about it, so it wasn't fixed during our stay.

The Remington Bar in the hotel was very nice. They had live music on Saturday night and we all went there after the wedding. They have a dance floor and also a lot of space for people to sit. The drinks were expensive, but that is to be expected.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St. Regis and would definitely recommend it.
