This hotel is located at the northern intersection of the 8 and 45 in Houston. It is close to IAH and business in the North-Central Houston area. My limited interaction with staff was excellent (I arrived at midnight and there were three or four staff members present as I walked in; all were kind and polite). The rooms were fairly utilitarian but, as compared with many other hotels of this class, accomodations were upgraded: the bed was not typical hotel stock (relatively firm but still comfortable), a desk that was convenient for notebook computer users (with a lower part that adjusted and was separate from the upper part of the desk, allowing the user to find a comfortable place for themself and the computer), and marble accessories in the bathroom. Internet service is still $10 per day, which is absurd when other Marriott properties include free internet service, but hard wired (and assumingly wireless) connections were available. Parking was free and lighting was plentiful in the parking lot. This property exceeded my expectations and needs (sans the internet charges).

I stayed one night here. The hotel is actually in a pretty good location - - right at I-45 and the Sam Houston Tollway. You can zoom right down I-45 into dowtown in 15 - 20 Minutes if there is no traffic. The area around the hotel is mostly office buildings. There is Greenspoint Mall which is not very nice and I don't recommend it at all for travellers. So, you'll need to drive to get to nice restaurants, shopping, clubs, etc.

The hotel is about 15 minutes to Intercontinental Airport which is very convenient.

This hotel is nice, but the decor is dated. My room was very large but the a/c unit was more like the type you see in budget hotels - - essentially a window unit.

While the room was not particularly attractive, it was very clean and comfortable. Everything was in good repair. The bed was very comfortable.

Service was uniformly prompt, polite, and professional.

I received a rate of $66.00 per night on the hotel's website.

Overall, an excellent value if you're willing to commute into Houston to do things and don't mind the unappealling decor.

I've stayed here several times and have always been pleased. We love the beds. I also love their thermostat and, this last time, the Bath and Bodyworks Orange and Ginger products. Good room service and very good breakfast buffet.

We just stayed at this hotel for a weekend with our team for a sports tournament. Check-in was a little hectic, due to all the large groups, but it is a large hotel & they should be prepared for that... I'd recommend confirming your room size/ & bedding requirements once again before you go... our family of 4 was moved to a king room with a sofabed b/c they had overbooked the double rooms. That turned out to be nice... we stayed on the concierge level which requires key access from the elelvator, which meant it was quiet even though there were kids roaming all over the rest of the hotel. The bedding is nice - plush beds, pillows & duvets. They provide Bath & Body Works aromatherapy products. The bathroom was small, but ours did have a large vanity area outside the door which allows two people to get ready at once. The room was very clean (other that a a clothing item left in the closet floor corner from a previous guest). The indoor/outdoor pool and the fitness area is very nice & key contolled, there are locker rooms, a sauna, & hot tub. There is some traffic noise at the outdoor pool due to the two highways, but it is nicely screened from view with landscaping. The lobby is large & provides a nice area for groups to meet; laundry facilities & a business center are available. The location is more suitable for business travelers... some nearby restaurants (other than fast food) are closed on the weekends as they are in an office complex area, so we had to drive a few miles north on 45 to find restaurants that suited our family needs, but it was a quick, easy drive. The mall area adjacent to the hotel is old & looks somewhat abandoned; it does not appear to be a safe area to be walking... so this may not be an idea spot for family vacationers unless you are stay to enjoy the hotel facilities & proximity to the airport, or don't mind driving a little ways out to find entertainment... but overall they hotel was nice & held up to Marriott expectations & is convenient to highways. We would stay again & felt safe staying there with our group.
