Considering I had never even heard of it, and we stumbled in after visiting the Rothko Chapel - WOW! The depth and variance of the collection is astounding.

“Fantastic Collection!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

A wonderful collection shown in beautiful, mostly natural light. The security staff were a bit overbearing but I didn't realize they had had a painting vandalized a few months ago so I totally understand now. Lovely area to walk around and don't miss the book store across the street. Free admission and free parking with a yummy food truck in the parking lot. All good!

“Menil Collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

It is a free museum that has a wonderful collection of art. It doesn't matter what you know about art, there is plenty of information on the walls and I am sure you will have a pleasurable day if you like to view beautiful objects and modern paintings. If you get hungry while looking at the art just talk to the museum guards they will point you in the direction of close by restaurants.

“Free Art!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

The collection had various displays and experieinces to offer.. I liked that one room allowed you to play live excerpts of music, speeches, etc on a real juke box. Also they had some Andy Warhol art and articles of interest. I really enjoyed the letters from artists since letter writing has become lost in general..

“Anything but ordinary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

A great gem in the city arts community. The Cy Twombley gallery is unexplainable ... what were they thinking? The main collection is very beautiful and spiritual in its perspective on the work. I must see in Houston.
