“Nothing Disney about this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Stayed here last week and first impressions were it was very full and not very Disney like. There was no bright colours or decor, no characters visited, nothing for kids to do at all. Big queues for breakfast even at your allocated time, nothing hot to eat at breakfast either. No entertainment on at night. 10 min walk to the parks or there's a free bus every 20min. No radiators in the rooms to dry clothes, no kettle either. Overall I was very disappointed at a so called Disney hotel having nothing to do for kids. I've stayed at the Magic circus hotel last year which is a mile away from the park and serviced by a free bus every 10 min and it was much more child friendly with a soft play and plenty of machines and games for them. Won't be back to sequoia lodge in a hurry.

Have only been home a few days and already missed this hotel. I had been quite nervous about staying here due to mixed reviews but from the moment we walked in we found it fantastic. We chose to go straight to our hotel to check in and there was no que. We checked in really easily, from our booking confirmation it said we were staying in one of the lodges, so i was over the moon to discover we were actually in the main building. Our room was really clean and lots of space, huge king size bed which was super comfy. The only problem i had with it was that the maids try and come in despite having a do not disturb sign on and also the towels could be a little bigger. The shop in the hotel was great and had a few different things in to the other shops. We didnt eat in the restaurant for dinner but it always smelt good. A couple of the nights we had a drink in the bar and found this to have a great atmosphere. The staff were so attentive and friendly. We made sure we was on time for our breakfast slot and the most we queued for was 5 minutes which was fine. I dont usually eat breakfast at home so the fact it was contiental didnt bother me, it was all fresh and very filling. Overall i thought this hotel was brilliant.

Room Tip: walk to the parks and village. its a lovely walk round the lake

Just arrived back after a 4 night stay here with my husband and twin 3 year olds. We upgraded to a Golden Forrest Room and I would highly recommend this, its was so worth the extra. It has a separate check in, separate breakfast room, soft drink sand snack bar, fridge, kettle and nespresso machine. When we arrived we were checked in straight away and our luggage was brought up to our room for us. The room consisted of 2 double bed, separate sink and wardrobe area and bath/shower and toilet. Rooms are cleaned every day and clean towels left. Towels were on the small side I have to say. Tea/coffee was replenished every day. We were on the 7th floor, lifts are a good size so we got in with the double buggy no bother. Out double buggy even fitted in the lift that take you down to the first floor to exit to the park, someone had previously stated on here that they couldn't fit their double buggy in it.
Breakfast Room in Golden Forest Lounge area was great and the staff were really helpful and friendly with the kids. Always plenty of food, a good choice as well.
We used the pool once and only stayed in for about 20 minutes as it was to cold for our wee ones. We went mid afternoon as the outdoor pool was closed off. The boys were disappointed as the slide wasn't working. Towels and locker provided free of charge.
The walk to the park is quite nice and only a 10 min walk. Boys loved feeding the ducks and the fish in the lake. The fish are massive.
We ate in the Hunters Grill in the Hotel the first night and it was 33 euros per adult and 17 euros per child with drinks on top. The food was really good and plenty to choose from. We didn't go for a meal plan but wished we did now as the food prices were roughly the same in most places and we were 100-150 euros per evening meal. You can get a meal plan for £120 a day and that includes lunch and evening meal so definitely worth it.
After a long day at the parks we headed back to the hotel between 4-6pm where snacks were provided in the Golden Forest Lounge. It was all lovely wee wraps or sandwiches, cakes, fruit, biscuits and sweets for the kids.
The weather was pretty miserable during our stay but we didn't let it get to us. You can buy ponchos for 7 euros - kids and 9 euros adults in the shop in the hotel.
Overall a great hotel, great location and good food and friendly staff. Would definitely go back and would recommend to friends.

Children were very excited to be staying in a Disney hotel. Unfortunately, hotel was clean and comfortable but other than that you would not realise you were in a Disney hotel. No visits by Disney characters in the hotel or pics of any. Decor dull. The odd Disney pic, not v child orientated. Only good thing is the proximity to hotel, all v out dated and lack lustre. Would not stay again.

This was a great choice of a Disneyland Paris hotel. It is just the other side of the lake which meant it was an easy walk. The rooms were fine and seemed to have been recently rennovated. A few small issues though: the outdoor pool area was closed off much too early each afternoon. In the good weather it should be open. Pool staff are a little rude we found. There was insufficient outdoor furniture on the deck near the bars...it is such a nice area to sit and have a drink. The charge card you can use was a flimsy piece of paper. At Walt Disney World there is one plastic card that does everything...including opening your room door! This really needs fixing. Hand soap was replaced each day which was wasteful and the other toiletries were rationed! I would suggest they consider using an air freshener throughout...maybe a pine fragrance to add to the atmosphere and mask a few funky odours in the rooms and corridors...it would enhance things. However overall the atmosphere of Sequoia Lodge was a lovely escape and was worth it.

We booked through Disney and stayed at Sequoia Lodge in a Montana Room last week. We travelled as a family so my husband and I and our two children aged 4 and 5 months. 6 weeks prior to travelling I emailed the hotel and requested that we have a travel cot in our room for the baby.
A prompt response was received that all I needed to do was ask on check in. We checked in at 2pm on our day of arrival and requested a travel cot and a kettle for the baby.
We unpacked and then headed into the park for the afternoon. When we returned at 7pm sadly there was no travel cot and no kettle in our room. I rang reception and was assured one would be bought to the room. An hour later now with a screaming hungry and tired baby I was starting to loose my patience and ended up carrying said screaming baby through the hotel corridors to reception. I was then informed that there is a microwave on the bar could use to heat the bottle. Why this had not been pointed out earlier I do not know. Baby fed I then had to put her to sleep on one of the double beds as no travel cot had arrived. At 9pm my husband then walked to reception to again request a cot and a kettle. A kettle arrived short while later but it was close to 9.45 before the travel cot arrived. No real explanation was given as to why it had taken over 7 and a half hour to provide a travel cot. I was not very impressed with their service in this respect.
The room was clean and basic but what you would expect from a 3 star hotel. The (tiny) towels were changed daily and the beds made.
Book early for breakfast as it becomes crazy after 8am with huge unmanageable queues. Staff at breakfast were polite and there was an abundance of food. I have a food allergy and was concerned but they were brilliant bringing me over a huge selection of food each morning to choose from.
We used the pool one afternoon the staff there were lovely explaining towels, arm bands etc and were very concerned about the baby going in for too long as the pool is quite cold. My daughter had a great time even though the slide was closed.
My only other issue was when we tried to buy a photopass after speaking to the concierge who kindly pointed us in the direction of the hotel shop, he failed to mention it was closed though.
Overall we had a lovely time, the hotel is a nice walking distance from the parks and Disney village such a shame that our first day was tainted by the travel cot saga

Room Tip: If going again I would pay for the Golden Forest upgrade better breakfast and rooms!

The hotel is quite ok. It has everything you need. It is clean and its staff is friendly. Towels are small and there's not a lot of amenities, but over all a good experience. It is better value than the Hotel New York, which is supposed to be a four star hotel.
