“Humble Location but, Great Texas BBQ!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Read about Bartley's in Big-D magazine and decided to give it a try durning a business stay in Grapevine. Got the three meat combo. Meats were excellent, some of the best Brisket and Sausage I've ever had. Chicken was good but not as strong as the other two. Sides were very good as well. Free Wi-Fi to those like me who care bout those things. Come with a big appetite, the portions are plenty. Thankfully the prices were very reasonable, helps to make up for the strip mall surroundings.

“Great ribs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

I stumbled onto this place by accident and am glad I did. While it might not be the fanciest place in the world, the ribs are much better than average and the staff is beyond friendly.

If I have a complaint it is in the side dishes which are just average. On the up side the ribs more than make up for the sides.

I will come back.

“First class taste, smell, ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I'm a native Texan who has been AWOL for 30+ years. This was the first BBQ place we found after deplaning at DFW, and oh what a nice treat. Tender meat, delicious sauce, generous portions, tons of tea, reasonable pricing.

HIghly recommended!

“Okay barbecue at a good price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

The restaurant is medium sized, clean, and located in a strip shopping center on Highway 26, naer Main Street on Highway 26.

They were out of ribs when we went thru the line, although 10 minutes later, someone near us was eating ribs, it would have nice to know they were available, we probably would have waited for them but there was simply blank space in the line and the server never said a word. Brisket lean and dry, we are moist brisket folks, so underwhelmed. I got the chopped brisket sandwich, the sauce offset the dryness. Smoked bologna was good as was the smoked hot links which was similar to ring sausage, but overall good. Typical sides. One interesting dessert is the pecan cobbler; imagine pecan pie filling twice as thick topped with pecans, no dough.

The place is clean and we got through the line quickly, prices are reasonable.

Some place to stop for a bite to eat but not representative of Texas Hill Country BBQ.

“Great History with Bartley's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

I have been going to Bartleys since I came to Texas in 1990. The food is always consistent for texas bar b q. Liked them better when they were in the middle of downton main street. I would stop in and the grandpa and father and son were all there. Nice hometown feel then and now at the new place.
Kinda lacking something being in a strip center but overall the food is good and people are pleasant.
