“Great time At Gaylord Grapevine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

This was by far an excellent choice for the business convention that I attended (June 10-13) but it was also an awsome family Resort. I have already purchase a couple of nights so my daughter can bring my grandkids. It was truly one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at and I plan to return for the Holidays.

Room Tip: I would definately recommend you get a room facing in to the atrium

Business conference -- great facility - very large. Came in a day early to relax and get familiar with the surrounding. Took some time to visit the waterpark. It was just the right size not to big and not too small. Loved the chairs in the water at the lazy river. On the river had to watch where you were going per would get hit with water if didnt. Wanted to close my eyes and relax yet was too afraid of getting bombed with water.
Rooms were nice - little small & in some positions were dark. Changed my room apon arrival because of this reason.
Ladies make sure to have personal items in your purse - there are not any in any of the restrooms. They were out at the shop when I arrived also.
The grounds were amazing -- alot of little walk ways to get lost in. They have a great experience too for the kids with train your dragon & shriek friends too.
Had an interior room - great to watch people below yet can hear the music all day long.

My family of 4 stayed from June 14-18. I have to say that I was a little disppointed upon check in. I thought the staff would have given me a little more information about my rate, the hotel information, and more on the "whereabouts" of activities...I guess a little more welcoming! We used self parking (at $17/night) and a bell hop met us to take our bags and brought them to our room promptly. Our room was nice which sat on the 3rd floor and overlooked the entrance of the hotel (looking outside). We did eat at the Riverwalk restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. We loved walking around and looking at the different shops they had. We utilized the 24 hour coffee/snacks shop where there was always a place to sit and relax. (OH..the chocolate chip cookies are to DIE for!) The kids loved the pool (inside and out) and we enjoyed relaxing on the outside couches..very nice! We ordered an inroom movie for the family and had room service once night for a dessert!! It was great! They catered to us perfectly! Yes, it was a bit pricey, but we were on vacation! Our family enjoyed the Paradise Springs on a Saturday. A short shuttle ride and you were there. I would say on the weekends..go around 10ish. It seemed to fill up pretty quickly. I saw families trying to find lay out chairs..or atleast A PLACE to put their things. We were lucky and found 4 layout chairs. We ate lunch there and shared a few things. We did bring a few waters in-they check your bags, but it seems they were fine with the waters. Overall, it truly was a beautiful experience my 16 and 11 year old girls seemed to love!

We stayed three days at the Gaylord for a business conference. The rooms were clean and comfortable, average for the price point. The hotel was interesting and the free balloons and living statue were big hits with the kids. The high point of the stay was the friendly and attentive staff members. They provided great service and were very nice to us and the kids.

We ate at the Mexican restaurant one night and it was terrible. I've had better Mexican food at a gas station. The regular hotel pool was crowded and dirty but the lazy river swim area was very nice. The kids enjoyed the zip line and one tame slide. The infant play area was fenced, which is helpful.

I would never pay full price for this resort but it would be a nice place to bring the family when there are deals.

We have stayed at the Gaylord numberous times and consider it our home away from home. We absolutely love it here. The employees are extremely nice and pleasant. We absolutely love the ambiance of the hotel. There is nothing quite like it. Our family has Thanksgiving tradition staying at the Gaylord. We're looking forward to our 2012 stay!

My husband and I and another couple did a "staycation" overnighter at the Gaylord. The price seemed a bit steep but included 4 passes to the water park for both days, so we had the kids join us for the second day. Upon trying to check in (albeit early at 1 PM), there was a huge line, and we couldn't wait because we had spa reservations. We were able to store our baggage and the husbands checked us in later in the afternoon. The rooms are acceptable, we were given a view of Lake Grapevine. Double sink vanity with granite countertops was nice, bath products were fine. The bed was sufficiently comfortable and not much room noise on either side. We dined at the Gaylord and found it to be very pricey for what you get, but I guess that's to be expected when eating at the resort. We spent an hour at the Glass Cactus after dinner, and it was entertaining and nice to have the shuttle bus to drive you back and forth. The water park was not huge but very nice with activites for the kids and very short lines. We felt safe letting our kids (9 and 12) float on the lazy river, etc, because lifeguards everywhere and the only entrance/exit is monitored well. We did book a cabana at the water park ahead of time, which was well worth it for our group of 8 to be able to get out of the sun! All in all, when you factor in the water park passes with the room cost, it was a pretty good value. We'd probably do it again next year, but will stick to early summer because water park in July would be miserable!
