“Great for Kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

The place was small, crowded, noisy and it took 45 minutes just to get in. But all of those things are bearable when you see how much fun your child is having. With this kind of attraction, it's all about the children (not the parents).

Hi there and thank you for your feedback of LEGOLAND Discovery Center on Trip Advisor. We love hearing about your experience during your visit.

During our peak times it does tend to stay on the busy side and the attraction can get a bit noisy and crowded at times. During off peak times is the best time to come and enjoy the attraction. There is hardly a wait time to get into the attraction, the attraction isn't as busy and the noise level isn't too bad either!

We are so happy to hear despite the wait time you had, your child had a great time while visiting. We try our hardest to make sure our number one guests (the kiddos) are having the time of their life. We also make sure that are big kids (the adults) are having a great time with their children as well. We love that no matter your age, everyone can enjoy building with LEGO® bricks anytime.

Again, thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback of your visit. We are so glad to hear your child enjoyed their visit and we do hope that your family will be back for some more BRICK'tastic fun!

“Excellent place to bring the kids! Get tickets early or online!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Very popular place and limits on how many people inside at once. To avoid long lines or disappointment, get tickets online for day you want to attend. For school age kids, just take a seat and let them do all the action. They do have separate area for smaller children. Don't miss the 3D movies and exhibits. Lots of fun!

Hello and thank you for your wonderful feedback on your trip to LEGOLAND Discovery Center. We love hearing our guests had such a great time during their visit.

We are so happy to hear that your family had a great time. It is a great time for children to let their imaginations really take over and build all sorts of things with brick.

We want to make sure that we accommodate both older and younger children. Which is why we have our DUPLO Village with the soft brick and DUPLO Brick for them. This way they don't miss out on any of the action and fun.

Our 4D Theater is a fun experience and is quite a surprise if it is your first visit. It really makes you feel like you can reach out and touch the characters from the movie.

Again we are so glad to hear you and your family had such a great time while visiting us. We do hope that you will be back again to visit and when you do we would love to hear all about your trip again! Thank you again for your great feedback and we hope to see you soon for another BRICK'tastic day!

“A Great Place for Kids who Love Legos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Recently, we went to Dallas because we got a great deal at a Marriott. We had no idea what they had for kids. As I was unpacking our vehicle, I stopped by the front desk and picked up a plethora of brochures. One of these was for the LEGOLAND Discovery Center. My son loves Legos. My wife saw the brochure and immediately wanted to take him. She was ecstatic to discover that it was in Grapevine Mills which she wanted to go to anyway based on another brochure.

I got online and discovered that there was a special online price. I purchased these along with Sea Life Aquarium, though the price I was originally quoted rose by the time I purchased the tickets.

As soon as we arrived at Grapevine Mills my son wanted to go inside. He asked and asked until it was time for us to get in line. Our time was 11:30-12:00. We walked into the prepaid line and were brought in immediately. This was not usually the case that I witnessed throughout the day. Both sides had large lines. After taking a picture and receiving our tickets for Sea Life we were taken on a factory tour. It reminded me of Star Tours at Disneyland where you wait outside the main room and watch a video of what "may" be going on inside. The factory tour was entertaining and our kids loved it. They each received a Duplo Lego and then we were placed in a line for a Buzz Lightyear-like ride where you have a gun with a lazer and shoot at targets. My children were scared at first, but my daughter was clapping her hands when it was over.

After the ride, we went to a play area with a section that had large foamy Legos. My children took off their shoes and were about to enter when a worker placed both against a size measurer. My son was able to go in, but my daughter was not. I was saddened because she was not allowed in, but it was probably better based on what I witnessed: kids throwing foamy Legos at each other. My daughter went with my wife to the Duplo play area. There was also a Princess area with karaoke, but it was not suited for my daughter.

Next, we went into the area that had a car ride, but my son was not interested. Lately, he has been playing Angry Birds Star Wars so he was excited to see the Lego Star Wars scenes. VERY impressive! My daughter enjoyed watching the Lego Star Wars movie. Afterward we witnessed the Lego Dallas city. VERY neat! We were in there to experience day and night.

My son was captivated by the build-your-own race car and ramp area. He raced two cars over and over and over again. In fact, he was happy just doing that, and we had difficulty getting him away.

Upon exiting, you have to go through the gift shop which is expected now a days.

In all, my son and daughter LOVED this place. The assistants were helpful and courteous. It was neat seeing a boy ask an assistant if he could trade Lego figures with him which he promptly did from his name tag. It's unfortunate that they have their no re-entry policy which I believe is an inconvenience, though I am sure it would pose a variety of problems. However, major parks like Disneyland have figured out how to make it work.

Hi there and thank you for taking the time to review us here on TripAdvisor! We are so glad to hear you planned your trip to Dallas and ran across our brochure while staying at the Marriott.

We are happy you got in right away and enjoyed the factory tour along with your children. Our Kingdom Quest ride can be a bit scary for the little ones but we hope they still enjoyed getting to shoot their laser guns!

We do have height restrictions on all of our rides and play zone area to keep all of our smaller guests safe. Safety is our number one priority and all of our staff members work hard to ensure these policies are followed. We hope that even though your daughter was under the height requirement she still found joy in playing in our DUPLO Village.

We are pleased to hear you found our Star Wars model display and MINILAND of the DFW Metroplex very impressive. It is quite amazing what you can do with LEGO® Brick. We hope you brought your camera and were able to capture all of the amazing buildings and scenes.

With theme parks like LEGOLAND and Disneyland, guests can spend all day and since we are a LEGOLAND Discovery Center most families spend a few hours inside our attraction rather than all day. The no re-entry policy is to help keep the traffic light in the attraction and pleasant for all of our guests.

We are so excited you and your family had such a wonderful time visiting us during your stay in Dallas. We hope you all will be back to visit us again and trade more Minifigures with our staff members! When you do come to visit we would love to know how your visit went the second time around!

“Perfect for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

My 5 year old loved it. The annual pass looks to be a good option for locals. As a non-local, it was fairly expensive. Good rides - the laser gun one and the expedition driving one were my child's favorite. A nice mix of active and creative options like the play gym and the build a car and race it, with a girls' princess karaoke and baby area. Note they don't allow adults unless you have a child with you, though there are adult-only play times some evenings. Buy tickets ahead of time to save money online.

“Financially Abused”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

We were 17 people--12 children, 2 adults, and 3 seniors--one of whom was 91 years old. We paid the same price for everyone regardless of age--INCLUDING the 91 year old who only wanted to be with her great grandkids. She couldn't even escape the noise, because there no "re-entry" allowed. Obviously she only sat waiting to finally leave. We approached the manager on duty, but there was absolutely no forgiveness or flexibility. We wrote the management and from our communication are not even sure they read our comments.
We found a coupon that they said was not theres--sure looked like it though.
If you want a cheaper price than walk-up, be certain to book online before going. Just because you see an online price does not mean that is the walk-up price. Currently the walk-up price is $18 per person no matter. Abusive.
The kids had a good time, but not sure kids older than about 10 would. It is not a big place. It is very loud. Not a place for learning anything. The play area is limited and not leading to much creativity.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback here on Trip Advisor. We do value and appreciate all the feedback we receive from our guests.

We are happy to hear that your children had a great time and experience here at our attraction and we hope they were able to let their imaginations run wild with their building. The attraction is made for families to enjoy and build together. We also appreicate that you made the decision to visit the attraction, despite the concerns you had over the price before you entered.

We do offer special group rates for those groups who have 10 or more in their party. Which can be booked in advance and also guarantees entrance into our attraction. We do have several coupons in the market and we are very rarely presented with coupons that we cannot accept. We would be happy to help you further if you could provide further details on the coupon that you were unable to use at the time of your visit.

We appreciate your feedback about how our online price and walk-up prices are advertised online. We will use this to review our website and ensure that the discount offered online is clear and does not reflect the walk-up admissions price.

During our peak times our attraction tends to stay busy with families coming to visit. We have our no re-entry policy to control the number of guests inside the attraction to comply with safety regualtions.

Again, thank you for taking the time to send us your feeback of your visit to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas Fort Worth. We do hope that you will come back to visit again and we would love to hear how your visit went the second time around.
