As suggested by the “Plan your visit” tab on the Legoland Discovery Center website , we purchased tickets online. (“It’s quick and easy, and you’ll get priority entrance too.”) There is no priority entrance. In fact, anyone walking up to the “cash” line was waited on first; despite the fact that we had pre-purchased tickets for arrival between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 well in advance. We waited until about 10:45 to get in despite having arrived just after 10:00 a.m. It was infuriating to wait when folks just walking into the mall would come up and ask “How much for tickets?” and were let into the facility as the families in the “pre-paid online” line grew more and more impatient and the line grew to over 50 people. It felt like we were being punished for having planned ahead. So bad was this experience prior to entering the facility that we made it a point to take the (lengthy) survey located on a kiosk as you’re about to leave. One of the questions on the survey? (I’m paraphrasing) “Did your experience in line make for a less than perfect visit?” Uh, yes. And if you KNOW this is an issue, why aren’t you making it better?!
Despite the line issue, our 4 year-old grandson (a Lego fanatic) couldn’t have been happier with his visit. He loved it all. It’s just unfortunate that he (and his parents and grandparents) had to wait 40 minutes despite planning ahead for “priority” entry.
