“Good place for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Great place for a couple of hours for kids. Our grandsons, ages 7 and 11 loved it - lots to do and lots to look at. It fosters creativity, analytical thinking skills and small muscle development, so educational, too. Wish there were more things like it.

“Boring for older kids -”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

My kids were very bored at DC, and it cost $75 for our family for about 45 minutes of fun.

The first thing you do when you enter is taking a short 3 minute tour of a replica of a factory. The Legos aren't really being made there. The DragonQuest ride that follows that was the only ride that was even remotely fun and challenging for my kids, but we were only allowed to ride it once. The third ride is just driving cars around in a room on an oval track. It's slow and boring. The kids didn't want to ride that again. The last ride was the Wizard Hat one where you just go in a circle and pedal to go faster. It's like Disney's Dumbo ride but on a much, much smaller scale. They didn't want to ride that one again either.

There was a small area for toddlers with one slide. There was a playscape area for older kids but my kids were done in about 5 minutes. There was also a small test track for racing cars but that held their interest for about 30 minutes tops.

The best thing about DC was the two movies they were showing. The 3D and 4D effects were really well done and the movies were pretty entertaining.

If your children are under 5 or 6, they may like DC. However, if they are older they will probably be really bored, especially if you've already spent time at the bigger Legoland parks in California, Florida, or Europe.

“Great place to play”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We have 4 Children and this place was a great spot for our kids. We had a chance to see 2 of the 4D movies and ride 2 of the rides. We could have spent all day playing with the legos. If you have time we suggest that you get the combi ticket for Sea Life as well.

“Best enjoyed if you really like LEGOS...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

A few suggestions-
If you plan on going I would suggest buying tickets ahead of time on the website. You can choose your date and time and go through the pre-paid no line.
If you don't want to buy online ahead of time before you go google discount coupons. I found one for $5 off for up to 4 admissions. Now the smart thing to do at this point is get there about 20 minutes before it opens and wait in line...If you don't you will be waiting in line for at least an hour...If you are like most people you are taking small children and that line was full of a bunch of unhappy kiddos.. At this point our wait was an hour and a half and I was not doing that with a 3, 5, 8 yr old. I handed my coupon to someone waiting in line and ended up buying tickets on my cell phone for a few hours later (all they had) and then took them outside to a movie to fill the time. When it was out time we walked right up- Make sure the kiddos have socks! It was OK- I wouldn't go back. I would say this would best serve boys ages 3-7. Don't be intimidated by the map- it looks huge but isn't that big. There was a small demonstration when we first got in that my son was a participant in so that was his highlight. After that think large McDonalds play land with a few legos on one side. There is a 15 minute 4D Lego movie that was cute- and warning you will get sprayed with water. There was a princess palace<ahem> which was 4 tall tables with a few legos. There was a Stage where your princess could perform karaoke..however it was broken- so my girls thought it was a bust. There is another small play area with a slide and some legos, a race track in the back, and race way ramp to race the cars you built and the best part I liked was the mini lego land. It was basically all the landmarks of DFW area made out of legos. Cowboys stadium, Rangers Ball Park, Ft. Worth Stock yards, Bass Hall, Downtown Dallas, Southfork Ranch, etc. They did have a small cafe where you could purchase drinks for about $2 and nachos and hot dogs for around $5. I didn't see anyone eating anything there. There wasn't a lot of room to move around in so if you have strollers I wouldn't bring them in. If your kids really enjoy legos then they might like it better than mine did. In all we spent about 2 hours inside. Also- when you leave the only way to get out is through the Lego Store. So prepare yourself or your children. I didn't notice prices because my kids weren't even interested in looking at that point <yay for me>!
