“Nice Hotel, relaxing atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Really enjoyed my stay at the Dinosaur Valley Best Western in Glen Rose. Wrap around porch, with big wooden rocking chairs, right out of a country song! Lobby is very cozy and inviting. Beautiful wood work everywhere. Halls clean and quiet. Rooms clean and comfortable. Very pet friendly with walk areas. Pool area really nice! Spa is great! Deep, with powerful jets. There is a Koi pond next to it, full of beautiful trees and plants, which can be enjoyed from the Hot tub! Very Zen..... A real spa expericence, made even better if it is a little chilly at night.. The Spa steams wonderfully. There is a wading pool for the children or elderly, I thought it very refreshing to use as a foot "plunge pool" after the spa!! A great place to enjoy the fantastic Glen Rose and Dinosaur Valley State Park.. I will be back.. The sooner, the better!!!

Room Tip: 3rd floor very quiet.

I was participating in a barrel race at the expo center and this was the perfect location. I was given a suite on the first floor that opened to a porch with an exterior door which was very convenient to take the dog out and also waok across the street to take care of my horse. The fee for the dog was a little steep since he doesn't destroy anything, and they tell you that you can be charged up to $200 for animal damage. If your dog doesn't do any damage, I feel like you shouldnt have to pay for him/her. Breakfast was ok but the girl working breakfast was taking everything up before the breakfast time was over two that was disappointing, There was almost no butter/margarine left and when I finished making my waffle she pulled the plug on the machine. Also, half the breakfast items were gone 15 minutes before breakfast was over.

The hot tub was a nice surprise. Hot and clean water and very comfortable. Bathroom clean and well lit. Bed slept well. Walls are a bite thin.

The front desk staff was very friendly and did give us the latest checkout available which was helpful.the Internet connection is good enough that I could work forgot the room without interruptions. However, they need a better PC/printer in the lobby since e PC doesn't have MS Office on it's so when you try to print, you can't.

The staff was very friendly, but this is noisiest hotel I've ever stayed at. We didn't sleep at all. The walls are paper thin and road noise was even worse. The carpeting and furniture was very dingy and had an undesirable odor to it. The shower curtain in the bathroom had rust stains and was very dingy.

Glen Rose, Tx is very much a tourist town. With the downtown square lined with shops and places to shop for antiques and other trinkets.
We stayed for a business trip at the Best Western. The property is very well kept. The beds, rooms and all clean and comfortable.

My one issue is the breakfast (but then I usually have an issue with breakfasts that are "Starch Laden Heart Attack in Progress). All breads, bagels, cereals, etc. We got down there by 8:30am and it had been pretty well picked over and in fact they were cleaning up.

Go find breakfats some place else.

On a scal of 1 to 5 they are a 4. Points off for the breakfast.

This hotel very effectively reflects the theme of the area. The exterior columns are limestone with fossils in them. It has a very nice lobby with a large stone fireplace and fossils in display in cases. The walls of the 2nd floor common area are decorated with dinosaur pictures dating from late 1800s to early 1900s. These are interesting both as pictures of the dinosaurs and as representations of how they were viewed 100 years ago. The hotel also has a very nice porch with rocking chairs. Our room was very large with a sofa, coffee table, and easy chair. Similarly, the bathroom was large, with a long counter decorated with ivy in the far corner. Note that lower numbered rooms are close to the highway. Traffic isn’t really disruptive of sleep, but it did seem to be at a moderate level throughout the night.

The rooms were fine. One bed was quite firm, probably the firmest mattress we've ever slept on. Not uncomfortable though. TV was the older kind but we didn't mind. Room took about 25 minutes to cool down but once it was cooled it was great. Having the wall thermostat was wonderful. All in all a good stay in a sweet little town.
