“Fun, casual atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Love the relaxed atmosphere at Burger U. I always get "The Freshman" burger because the others are too big for me. Also love the skinny cut sweet potato fries! Relaxed, family atmosphere, but also fun to sit at the upstairs bar and watch the game with a date or friends.

“Memorial Day Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Was running the roads and decided to try something local. Had seen BU before and was hungry for a burger. The courthouse square has lots of appeal. Good parking and free. Memorial Day was a good business day for this establishment. Located in a beautifully refurbished building on a corner across from the Williamson County courthouse, the process is simple; walk in, read the wall, place order, grab a table. Nice original wood floors and staircase. Seating in the balcony area appealed to the kids. Lots of families. When you get your burger, you sidle up to the condiment bar and dress it the way you like it. The wait staff was pleasant. The concept is simple. The burger was tasty, when dressed. The fries were plentiful and very good. The tea was a little weak. As burger joints go, this was generally good. What I really like is that the meat and veggies are all very fresh. It is locally owned and it is in a unique structure where people actually have to have a conversation without being bombarded by big screen tvs, etc.. I would go back again.

“A good local burger option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

I've been to Burger U. many times. It is nice to have a reasonably priced meal option on the square. The burgers are made fresh. The burgers are very tasty and the fries are awesome. What does not allow me to give it five stars are things unrelated to the food.

They have a condiment bar similar to the condiment bar at Fuddrucker's You can get fresh veggies for your burger as well as the mustard, ketchup, etc. The issue is that it is all in a confined space that includes the soda fountain. If there is a person at the condiment bar, you just have to wait. No more than 1 or 2 can use the bar at the same time. Kind of annoying when you are trying to prevent your nice, hot, fresh burger from getting cold.

The upstairs dining is nice, but the condiment bar upstairs does not have the same selection as in the main dining area. If they would make them identical and add a soda fountain upstairs, the place would be near perfect.
