We got a last minute reservation for one night during the Dickens celebration. Our room was impressive with the beautiful decor and super tall ceilings. Bath robes, blow dryer, iron and ironing board, 2-cup coffee maker, and a clock radio, wi-fi conx are included. It feels like you stepped back in time to the luxurious accommodations of the elite class of the 1800's. There is a atrium lobby that you can view from each of the 4 floors above. The glass elevators look out over this area as they rise and fall to each of the levels. Many times there is someone playing the piano is this area that also has a beautiful bar to fill your requests and a small cafe that also features a StarBucks for your favorite hot coffee drinks. Christmas choirs performed in the lobby also. Couches and comfortable plush chairs help you relax and people watch as "Dickens period" clothing and costumes awe and entertain you as they attend special balls and parties. Even the luggage that some people arrive with fit the time period that is being celebrated. Saturday and Sunday at Dickens right outside the doors are just waiting for you to discover all the mysteries and special finds to the sounds of mandolins, bagpipes and handbells. The hotel is located inside the gates of the "Dickens on the Strand" celebration and easy to return to for a quick rest or breather or to store your newly acquired treasures.
I've already booked next years reservation. Can't wait!
