“Stayed here Saturday night before our cruise.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2010

I found if i could book off the American Airlines site i could get bonus points to our account. I made it and was charged to my Discover card.( ,more points) We got here about 7pm and it was cold outside. The rooms must have been updated since the hurricane. Very nice beds and bedding. Bathroom was big. Very nice and good for the price. We had a view of the ocean but it was nasty outside. We ate the breakfast. Your standard breakfast. Very easy to get to the cruise port.

the people at the desk were reasonably friendly,

BUT the room smelled strongly of stale tobacco smoke and altho the hotel claims to be non smoking, there were no signs at all on the doors of the rooms or any where in the rooms that smoking was not allowed.

AND i found an animal hair on the sheet. this is what a "pets allowed" policy can lead to!

on two counts this hotel failed to come up to a reasonable standard. i will NEVER stay in a pet friendly hotel again and will always check the room BEFORE i pay the fee to make sure the room is fresh and non-smoky.

Stayed here Nov 1, $58 for a room with 2 doubles. Desk people were nice. Room was roomy and clean. #332 had a view of the Gulf through a somewhat small window. Some road noise as the door didn't seal real tight. The AC unit was a little on the loud side. Breakfast was okay. Crappy coffee. I'd stay there again.

In the middle of working in my room, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, they tried to talk their way into my room to bring a bunch of people in to install a TV.... Very unprofessional and rude.

Ac unit didn't work in the first two rooms they tried to put us in. Bed was comfy, that was the highlight. Dirty overall. Vending unit spits out warm sodas. No printer... Deep hole in elevator floor, etc. etc....

The hotel staff was very friendly. When we travel with our dog we usually stay at La Quinta as they are pet friendly. This was our first trip to Galveston and we didn't know what to expect 1 year post-Ike. The hotel room had been upgraded with new furnishings, bedding, etc. We liked this end of the Seawall Blvd too. Would stay here again if we were traveling with our dog.

This hotel is ok. We just stayed one night because we were only here for my daughter's doctor's appointment the next morning with a specialist at the utmb hospital. Our room was clean but as we walked along the corridors we saw several roaches lurking during the night. The vending machines also only carried soda, & the only one that did have water was out of order. The Denny's across the lot was also not very decent or helpful as the service was there was very rude to us.

I like this hotel because its right in front of the sea I had a great view from my room.
My room was kind of small but very clean. I like all the ammenities except the rude and overwork hostess that works in the breakfast area she really needs help she looks overworked, stressed out she really needs a better strategy on preparing breakfast by putting the cereal on the bottom cabinets instead of running back and forth to another room and she really needs to change her attitude this was at the 1402 Seawall La Quinta Inn at Galveston Tx. so yall would know what to expect she also complains about how hard she works. People are their to relax and enjoy not to hear her complain about work they really need to get somebody else she is obnoxious. Manager don't care about customers if breakfast is over at 9:00 a.m and you wait for the waffles 20 minutes before and the rude hostess takes the waffle mix and tells you after waiting 20 minutes breakfast is over.
