Great place. Beautiful views. We were stuck in port because of the oil spill and didn't know when we would get out. They offered us to stay at a reduced rate and told us if the ship boarded sometime during the day that we not be charged. I am not used to companies being that helpful in a bad situation. I applaud the company and staff for not taking advantage of people.
The bar and food was great. According to my wife I enjoyed it a little to much but, I don't really remember it that way and the next day I wasn't feeling good and had a headache so I wasn't feeling up to arguing.
We also used the gated parking for the week, which was really easy and secure. I accidently left the car unlocked all week with several things in plain view and nothing was touched.
I definitley will return!!!

This hotel is one of the worst I have stayed in. We booked online, and had no idea that the hotel will soon to be gutted and will be rebuilt. We were only told that after we began complaining about various things. The room was dirty, the drawers broken, light bulb in the bathroom was out, rusty lampposts, moldy bathroom floor and toilet, etc. The roof inside the hallway sagged, there was no ice machine, no video games as the previous owners had taken them, the restaurant did not serve dinner as stated online, no room service, no kids arcade as stated on website, and no microwave anywhere on site. Our "ocean view" was on a balcony about six feet long that overlooked the terribly ugly roof of the front of the hotel. And all of this luxury came at a price of close to $300! I was more than disappointed-enraged would have been more like it. I hope it will be lovely someday, but to charge me that price for that dump was highway robbery. And it doesn't make it any more ethical that it was "high season," "spring break," etc. I could have stayed at at the San Luis or any other hotel on the strip for that and had a better room, better service, and a better time!

Birdielover1,

We are very sorry for your dissatisfaction. As new ownership took place in mid February, your assessment is correct. Previous ownership removed many items and it is going to take time to remodel this property. We will work very hard to extensively remodel this property and work with our management to ensure that our pricing structure is in line with comparable properties in the market.

Unfriendly staff, hidden things (room service is only available till 11 am), dirty rooms, wash basin is choked, no water bottles in room. All in all very bad experience. My note to manager: You charged me $200 for a room, atleast provide me services you promise, like room service.

ak_reviews2014,

We are very sorry for your bad experience. We certainly do not want to over promise under deliver and it seems this is what has happened. We will work with our team to provide better service, work with our hosting companies to provide more accurate information about the property, and work with our house keeping department to ensure a clean room.

We will immediately address these issues and hope that you will allow us the opportunity to have you as our guest in the future.

My group stayed at this hotel in January 2014 not realizing that it was no longer part of the Holiday Inn Resort chain. We have stayed here many times when it was the HI and enjoyed the great location, excellent service and wonderful amenities. Unfortunately, the hotel lost it's membership in the fall and with it, went everything good about this place. We should have known from the start when we were told they were "renovating". There was no fruit in the room as in year's past and even the Kurig was broken. The only good thing about this hotel was the food served our group downstairs and Tommy the bar tender who also acts to deal with any problems that occur because the management never seems to be around when you need them. Sunday morning our group was supposed to be taken to the ship in the hotel's bus, but they weren't allowed at the port as their registration had expired so they took the group to another hotel and left our group to be transported from there by strangers. When we returned the bus was not at the terminal and no one from the hotel was there to assist us. When we called the hotel we learned they still did not have their permit to come on terminal property and advised us to come in a taxi back to the hotel where they were supposed to take care of payment to the taxi drivers. When we arrived at the hotel, Tommy met us and apologized, saying the manager was out and he was sorry about our problems and that they were working on getting a permit for their newly named hotel. I talked with Tommy and advised him someone needed to contact me as group leader to discuss issues, but it has been over 2 months and still not one word from anyone in management. This was once a great property, but it has fallen greatly. My future groups will not return to this property. Find another hotel!

Debbie,

We are very sorry for your experience. We took ownership over this property mid February and are working daily to ensure problems like this do not happen. Although ownership transitions are always tough, we are currently focusing fixing hotel mechanical issues like your Kurig coffee maker as well as operational issues.

Over the next 12 months our team will completely remodel this property, re-train all of the staff, and bring a quality product that our guests expect. I hope that as we begin to make these positive changes that you will allow us the opportunity to have you as our guest.
