We were looking forward to the gulf view from the balcony...giving us much needed rest with a book and gulf views for three days. Things did not go well, we planned to pay the cancellation fee and leave. Free breakfast did not make up for all of the issues we had from the moment we got the room keys that did not work upon our arrival. Eleanore listened to my complaints the next morning, spoke to the manager and resolved the issue. Within 30 minutes we were in a different room and happy. Thanks to her we at least had two days of complete relaxation.

As a travel agent and group leader, I was delighted to find this jewel of a hotel for my clients. The view from every room is breathtaking as they overlook the seawall. Though the hotel is not brand new, our room was nicely decorated with plenty of storage, a frig in the room and a terrific balcony The shower delivered plenty of hot water and the beds slept like a dream. Making arrangements with Reece to pre-book and pre-pay for my group of over 20 rooms was easy and she and Debbie constantly took care of all our needs with a smile while we were at the hotel. The rates were very reasonable even though it was Mardi Gras weekend. We also enjoyed a wonderful buffet dinner in Kokomos Restaurant as well. Hannah assisted in choosing the menu and she and her staff took special care of our guests during the entire meal. We were allowed to eat and talk and no one rushed us through service. Everyone especially enjoyed the little cakes for dessert. One of the best parts of our stay, however, was having our vehicles safely parked in the hotel's lot and being shuttled to and from the cruise terminal as a group without having to pay extra for the privilege This is an incredibly clean, modern and fun hotel. This was my second group booking and I will be booking my next group cruise clients for a Saturday night stay to get our trip off smoothly again as well as recommending the hotel to my other clients who wish to visit Galveston for a weekend or longer vacation. - Debbie Rumfield, My Pin Money Travel, LLC

We stayed here for an evening because we were attending a wedding at the Galvez close by and their rooms were full. Not exactly the same kind of stay to the Galvez...

Price wasn't bad but I got my rooms through Priceline so probably got the best deal on it possible.

I'd call this place a La Quinta on stilts. Not a bad hotel but not what I was expecting with the Holiday Inn brand. It's a tall balconied rooms hotel with open air room access on the backside. These hallways were renovated at some point with covers and slat windows but still pretty breezy. (bad on windy Galveston nights) The views of the Gulf are good if you get above ground.

Also to note, they have a nice pool with a swim up tiki bar. Restaurant looked alright but didn't dine there so have little to say.

Room was clean and staff at the front desk was nice although a little laid back from professionalism.

I'd come again if looking for a cheap night on the island with almost everything you needed and no wows.

No tub in the room, only a shower. Very dated rooms. The gulf view was nice, but the busy traffic and noisy outdoor bar made for poor night's sleep. I think this dated hotel is WAY overpriced for the quality of the hote.
