“Great Beach Access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

This was a great last minute find thanks to trip advisor. We just had to walk across Seawall Blvd to get to the beach. It was so nice to be so close so we could come back and rest and return to the beach throughout the day. Great breakfast, very friendly staff, clean and reasonable price for the location. We will definitely go back here again. Family friendly.

Nice place. Comfortable, nicely decorated rooms. Each room has private balcony. Free breakfast. Excercise room. Guest laundry. Pool is indoor, but they also give you the option of swimming next door at the outside pool. The only downside is parking is somewhat of a hassle. Weekend rates get a little steep in my opinion, but they are still much better than the other chain hotels in the area. Front desk employees are nice. I will stay here every time I go back to Galveston.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same and have the same view.

My husband, toddler, and I, and a friend, stayed at the Quality Inn and Suites for two nights. The room was comfortable, clean, and walking distance to the beach (even carrying a toddler). The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us an inflatable twin mattress for our toddler to sleep on. Some of the towels were threadbare but they provided more. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, tv, table and chairs, desk and chair, and the balcony had a small table and two chairs. The breakfast had variety of foods including DIY waffles, cereal, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, and yogurt among other things. Tea, coffee and juice were available. Our balcony had a glimpse of the beach.

There was not any wireless connection but internet was available through ports in the wall, and a computer was in the lobby for guests to use.

Our room faced 61st street, and was very loud from street noise, and the balcony light shone through the curtains making the room very bright, The elevator was slow, but we were on the second floor and took the stairs. The pillows seemed to be filled with the equivalent of foam popcorn, and were quite uncomfortable.

I would stay there again, but I would choose a room on the other side of the hotel, and I would bring my own pillow if possible!

This was one of the few places to stay on 4th of July that wasn't booked already or didn't want a 2 day minimum night stay. It was more than we wanted to spend for Quality Inn ($300 w/taxes & fees) but it turned out to be a nice stay. We watched the parade go by & fireworks display. Breakfast was decent, clean room and very friendly staff.

Clean, comfortable rooms, some with a good view of the Gulf. Located away from most of the attractions along the seawall with great security, free parking, and free breakfast. It's become one of the only places that I will stay while on the Island. The staff was great on arrival and departure. So great to have very polite and wonderful company representatives. Quality Inn management should be proud!

The elevators in this multi-story hotel are sloooooooooow, so try to get on a lower floor. We stayed mid-week, so I can't imagine the wait on summer weekends. Everything else ranged from from acceptable-plus to excellent. The employees were friendly and cheerful, the full breakfast was great, the rate was shockingly low (though like I said, we stayed mid-week), and the beach is a seashell's tthrow away. The other great thing about the location is that it's just off 61st Street, one of the main arteries leading into the city, so there are lots of affordable culinary choices nearby and it's easy in, easy out when arriving/departing. All told, a pleasant experience.

This hotel is located across the street from the public beach and located near a number of great restaurants. The hotel negatives....slowest elevator ever...can wait up to 3 minutes so get a room on the lower floors so that you can take the stairs. The morning breakfast is fair at best...you may want to consider going somewhere else because the breakfast options are limited. Yes...this hotel has no place to sun bath next to the pool because the pool is indoor. If you are looking for place next to the beach and a good price, this is your place!
