“We'll be back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We should have done this a long time ago! The villa we got (W42A) was perfect. Very clean, very modern and updated. Overlooks the pool and the beach.

The kitchen was stocked with pretty much everything you'd ever need - pyrex mixing bowls and baking dishes, one stainless pan and one non-stick, complete set of silver, whisk, can opener, wine tool, scissors. There's also a toaster and a microwave. Also included were paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, and laundry soap.

Some pointers:
- The cooking tools are stainless, so if you're used to using a plastic spatula and cooking tongs (they don't stock them), bring your own.
- You'll need to bring coffee filters, as I had to use paper towels. And bring your own coffee. See below.
- There's a plastic package inside the coffee maker containing that horrible hotel coffee and fake powdered creamer. But, you'll also find a tiny set of salt and pepper shakers that you might find useful.
- If you would rather not risk your kids eating/drinking out of glass and ceramic, you might want to bring cups and plates just for them.
- The freezer has an ice maker, but it'll be in the off position when you get there. Turn that on immediately and then you'll have ice to use for your beach picnic packing. :)
- If you're cooking bacon, turn the vent on high and cook it at a 5 or 6. My stove at home lets me cook it at high w/no issues, but in this little space, that did not work well and the smoke got out of hand. Enough to set off the smoke alarm. So. Don't do that.
- We had a lot of stuff to drag to the beach - one of those EZ Up Canopies, small cooler, beach bag, beach toys, and three camp chairs. Most of that stuff was in the car, which was on the Ground floor. The bridge to the beach, however, is on the 1st floor, so we had to schelp everything from the car up the elevator, thru the front desk lobby, out past the pool, to the bridge. HOWEVER, we could have just walked everything from the car by cutting thru on foot to the neighboring parking lot of the city Pocket Park 2 right next door. Now that we've made that mistake, you don't have to. If you try to drive your car over there, they'll want $8. I was able to sweet talk the guy into letting me in just to load up at the end of the day and he was nice enough to let me. :)

No complaints about this property at all. The wifi can be a little fickle at times, the elevator is just a little slow, and the sliding glass doors are really hard to slide open (at least ours are), but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Certainly not complaint-worthy. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor, so there was some noise from the room above. Furniture-scraping-the-floor...

Great Room in recently refurbished facility. Woke up to an ocean sunrise and great ammenities with beach access!! About only areas where I felt improvements could be made is a restaurant on site and room service, outside of that was outstanding place to getaway!! Appears as if we have found our Galveston place to stay!!

This is a reasonably priced place to stay. The location is good, right on the beach and the rooms are nice. The negatives are:the pool is never very clean and is certainly not big enough for all the guests, the one and only trash chute is located in the East Wing which was very inconvenient since we were staying in the West wing. All in all though, it is nice for the price if you book early.
It was great to have a nice kitchen so we could cook while there. Again though, you must book way in advance to get the room for what it is worth.

Great place right on the beach!

We've stayed other places but keep coming back here as it provides the best of both worlds: right on the beach with no crossing traffic, and a pool to cool off in after playing in the Gulf.

They also provide nightly activities for families!

There is no dinning at this resort, but that's easily fixed with so many local favorites.

It was a weekend getaway and here is the good.
It is on the beach. Close to Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn. Galveston is not known for its food, the hotel suites have a full kitchen so if you bring enough supplies you can eat good and healthy. If there are no oil spills the beach on the west end are nice and quiet. This hotel is on the beach you do not have to cross the seawall. All these things are the good.
The not so good.
First floor of rooms have a very strange noise problem. 86 seconds on, stops and 14 seconds off. As can be imagined...that is annoying. If you are not a light sleeper, probably not a big deal. The hotel was kind enough to move our room. Plus.

Room Tip: Go high, the floors carry noise so anyone on top of you will be heard.

This hotel was a great stay for our family vacation this year! The room was a bit pricey, but it was worth it to be able to fall asleep to the sound of the Gulf. Another plus was the boardwalk. It was so convenient and we not having to cross Seawall with my kids and all our beach gear. The room itself was conveniently divided into living & sleeping areas and it had a shared (between 2 suites) washer & dryer. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils (not that I cook - it was vacation!) And the room was nicely furnished. Beds were comfy and we had a great view. I can't wait to go back!

We had a one bedroom unit that was more than adequate for us. Good location in that it was pretty much in the beach in a quiet section of the island, but only a few minutes from attractions. This is a timeshare so no maid service. Room was reasonably clean, except the bathroom shower had some hair in the drain and spots seemed a bit moldy. Elevators are in inadequate... Sometimes long wait times and the stairs are locked out on the ground floor. We never tried the pool because despite its shallow depth, it was so cloudy we could not see the bottom. Overall, the unit was in pretty good shape and we didn't really need the pool anyway, so the biggest challenge was the elevator situation, which was a relatively minor inconvenience.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your experience with us. You are correct that a stay with us differs from a traditional hotel stay in some ways. One of those is that housekeeping services are not provided in our villas daily, they are however available on demand at any time. We appreciate your review and we would love the opportunity to host you again in the future for more vacation fun.
