“Galveston ohhh Galveston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

This is a beautiful resort, on the beach, with fabulous rooms. It is an apartment really, with all the comforts of home. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. All rooms have an ocean view with large balconies. The bathroom is fab with a whirl pool tub and separate shower. The decoration is very tasteful and kitchen is fully loaded. The premises are new, which has a nice clean comfortable feel. The only difficulty I had was in finding the resort, too new for my GPS.

For Galveston it has excellent access to the beach (I would never stay at one of the hotels across the Seawall from the beach) and for that alone I would return. We went during spring break and the beach was not crowded. I do wonder how crowded the beach would be during the summer due to the public beach access shares the same driveway as the resort.
We LOVED the room (1BR) - it's all updated, clean and nice. Ipod dock. BluRay DVD player. Full kitchen. Beautifully decorated. The view and sound of the ocean is wonderful. It is a brief trip to the seawall for all the "popular" restaurants and attractions on the island. Will definitely return on future trips to Galveston.

You feel like you have your own slice of the beach. Room had fully equipped kitchen except for an oven (toaster oven instead). All was quiet for three days and then the family from hell moved in. Tons of kids and too much noise. Running up and down the hallway all night. We shared a secure corridor with them so it was a pain in the rear to hear banging on the outer door because the kids couldn't get in. Go when the kids are in school and you should have a nice stay. Maid service is available for a fee. They clean once before you arrive and will clean again once you leave.

Room Tip: Choose a larger room. The views for the smaller rooms are not great.

Loved the location & loved the room. Our room #W44 was fabulous. It had a door to the balcony from the bedroom & also from the living room. It has a full kitchen that is stocked with everything you might need - including a wine opener!
We decided to go out of town at the last minute so I only booked one night. I have issues with my back so if the bed sucks we find somewhere else. The bed was very comfortable & had a white comforter - which I love cause it can't hide gross stains so we stayed another night. Staff was very accomodating & friendly.
They also have covered parking with roomy parking spaces.
Our gps didn't take us to far enough down & the street was dark with no lights. It's about 1/2 mile past Woodys.
Will definately be going back in the future.

Room Tip: W44 - Great view with doors that open to the balcony in the bedroom & living room

The location and view was nice. The pool wasn't heated. The room was very noise. Could hear chairs moving on the floor of rooms above and beside and people walking which woke us until 2 am. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom had silverfish. Wonder if $207 a night in March could have gotten a better room?

Pro:
- good location, away from the crowd. Convenient access to the beach directly from the hotel.
- great pool: the pools are excellent! maintained at 80F at the pool and 102 F at the Jacuzzi while outside temperature is 50 F. We had such a fun time swimming in a cold day outside.
- Nice interior: Nice setting, full kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking.
- Activities: movie night and pop corn for kids. also can check out movies and books and board game for free. beach volley ball and stuff.
- on site store: even though we didn't have to buy anything, however this is a nice service that you don't have to drive out if you forgot something.
- friendly staff.
- we stayed at the west side the first time, east side on the 2nd time, great sunset and sunrise overlooking the ocean.
Cons:
- can't think of any. We love this place and for sure will go back.

Room Tip: We like east side of the hotel.
