“Library”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Oldest Library in Texas. A good way to find out about the history of Galveston in the early years. Built in the 1890's and left to the City by Henry Rosenberg.

“Great History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Third floor museum is very interesting with many relics from the Civil War era and other periods. It is free and very instructive. While you are at the library, there is a section of used books for sale on the first floor at very reasonable prices. Parking is free. There is also a newly refurbished children's section. If you need to relax for awhile, there is a reading room on the third floor with comfortable chairs.

“Great Library”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

They have just reopened the maid floor of the library. It took a hit from Ike in 2008. The library is beautiful and is up to date. I have a Kindle so I don't go in there as much. It is a full service library, and has lots of old, historic Galveston pictures. I believe you can even buy copies of the pictures.

“Nice historical library”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Several floors of Galveston history, not to mention all the library books. They periodically have a book sale, which is really good. Nice place just to visit as well as going to look for books.

“Hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Read the reviews on Trip Advisor to find out about the museum upstairs. It's not huge but very informative. I learned some things about Galveston I did not know. Best of all, it's FREE, and my kids love the library. A must visit!
