This hotel is in a great location, feets from the beaches here on Galveston Island. The hotel is shaped like a ship, and when viewed from a distance it really looks like a ship sitting on land. But mother nature has taken her toll on the structure of this old building and she is literly falling apart. When it rains the roof leaks in numerous rooms. It has great views of the Gulf Of Mexico, but when it rains, water pours in around those windows. Also there is a lot of illegal activites that goes on on that property,(example)prostitution and drugs, which on my stay there i reported to local police. Management is aware of these activites and has a policy of refusing to issue a refund if say you check-in and find out within say 15 to 20 minutes that there is illegal activies going on or that when it rains the roof and windows leak. I observed several patrons be treated this way.The Mayflower Inn, i would not recomend to any one.
