“Excellent Crab Cakes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

Visited with my family. Crab cakes were excellent. Definitely save room for desert and order the pineapple cheesecake. Outside seating was very nice.

“Overpriced!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

The tuna salad was delicious, and worth the money. The tuna was seared just the way I like! But my husbands shrimp and Greek salad was tiny! Parking is a nightmare. Although they validated our parking, the machine wouldn't read it, so we had to pay $10. My suggestion is to Get away from the tourists, and go somewhere else!

“Great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

It has been 6 months since we have been to Galveston and Fish Tales. Located across from the new Pleasure Pier Amusement park so it's very busy place. The wait was about about 45 minutes for our group of 6 which I felt was very reasonable considering the time of day. We ate inside which was fortunate since Galveston weather was pretty hot and humid. But if you get the chance in the evening or if it's not too hot, go upstairs and on the balcony. The view is worth it. Food was pretty good but oysters were not as good as before in the winter and they were out of Key Lime Pie ;-(. The waiters at the Blue Belle ice cream station kept us busy while we were waiting with ice cream samples. They were great as well as our table waiter! They have not got the parking figured out. They have paid parking behind the restaurant but we had trouble getting out last time because meter got stuck. Took us 45 min to get out this time. My advice is park down the road and walk or pay to park on the main street. You have to spend at least $100 to get $10 parking fee waived.

“Great restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

We sat up on the balcony. The appetizer with the shrimp and jalapeños was delicious. I had a crawfish po boy which was tasty. My husband had the fried food platter and the fried oysters were delicious. I would recommend the restaurant. You can also look out onto the Pleasure pier.

“Don't bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

If you want a great view, then go. If you want good food as well as a view, there are many other choices. Our food was expensive, and barely average. We split the seafood platter, which supposedly had "jumbo shrimp", "stuffed shrimp" crab cakes and a seafood fillet. The 4 "jumbo shrimp were medium-sized at best, there was only one stuffed shrimp, 2 small crab cakes and 2 wafer thin fillets of tasteless fish that I could not identify. The gumbo was so bad, we sent it back. They did take it off our bill, which was nice. The girls split the salmon entree, and that looked good, but also a small portion compared to other restaurants we visited.
