A couple of things set Sapori apart. This is not a pizza joint, although I think you can get a pizza. I was lucky enough to get a tour of their fabulous new kitchen where they make everything from scratch, whether it's the dough for their pastas or the incredible array of pastries made on site.
The menu is varied with some creative seafood dishes as well as the more tradition Sicilian fare. The brothers who are the proprietors, were in the restaurant business in Galveston years ago, then returned to their native Sicily to refine their skills.
While Stewart Road is being rebuilt, getting there is a minor hassle. Parking is ample. Atmosphere is cozy but more business than romance. Tables are smallish but very adequate for parties of four. Staff is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. At this time, this new restaurant does not yet have their liquor license but are happy for you to bring in your own libations.
