“Excellent service soon put us back on track”

Set right on the Galveston seafront, what this hotel delivers is a top notch room (large, excellent bed and linens, very clean and spacious bathroom) at a reasonable price. The facilities are primarily aimed at those needing overnight accommodation for several people and their beach gear. For instance, there was a microwave and a fridge but no crockery/cutlery/ cooking facilities/utensils and the Inn was even unable to lend us any wine glasses; there was a balcony, but no table and only one chair; breakfast was a variety of pre-packed foods and drinks, served on paper plates with plastic cutlery.
Having realised quickly that this was not the "efficiency" we had expected, we wanted to find somewhere more suited to our needs, and do it fast! We really must compliment Matt, the Manager, whose "can do" attitude was brilliant and with minimum fuss he arranged for us to transfer to another hotel in the group - Candlewood Suites - for the rest of our stay, just a few miles up the road. His words "my priority is for you to have a great holiday" was a pleasure to hear and will stick with me for a long time.
There is a large supermarket a short walk away and a buffet restaurant next to the hotel where we had dinner; as much as you can eat for $12.95. The range of food was phenomenal, and the pot roast was amazing!

Exceptional welcome by Matt. Gave us choice of rooms to decide - Two Queen or One King Suite - chose latter for the jacuzzi tub. Give this hotel an exceptional rating. You'll want to return. Baconys have water views your right across from beachfront. No hotels at all on the beach itself. Matt also gave us an excellent recommendation for dining - Saltwater Grill - rated elsewhere under Galveston Restaurants.

Room Tip: Third (top) floor - even nos. balcony face west. Odd nos face east

Great place to stay, whether you are a one nighter or a week stay or longer. The breakfast changes everyday and has a wide variety of items for all tastes. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. During my stay, I used everything from the business center, to having mail delivered at the hotel as well as doing laundry. Great location so u can easily walk to a fishing pier or the beach.

Another great stay! Top of the line service at check in. I was able to check in early with no hesitation from the staff..Hot breakfast is a plus and the cookies in the afternoon are always a nice treat! Lorie always has a welcoming smile.

I stayed for several days and was very pleased with this hotel. Matt and his staff are friendly, professional and hardworking. I saw nothing that was left undone. Maintenance and housekeeping are kept up to date in a timely manner.
I enjoyed the pool and exercise area as well as my clean and comfortable King room. I was thrilled with the Gulf view off the balcony.
The location is great as it is close to everything. Matt was very helpful and patient answering my many questions about Galveston.
I slept well, felt safe and will be back again.

Rooms were good sized. Close enough to walk to most areas of interest. Parking is a little tight when a crowd is in town. Wifi worked well and breakfast was plentiful. Only issue was the lobby music was so loud that it blasted in the eating area in the mornings.

Comment on negative reviews: If you're looking for something to complain about you are sure to find it!! We will stay here again and take our grandchildren next time.

Booked thru Expedia, no problems.
Check in: Speedy, all info correct. Booked 2 nights, extended a third. Luggage carts handy.
Staff: Friendly, efficient.
Breakfast: Hot, fresh, well stocked.
Room: Clean, pillows and bed great, water hot. TV & appliances all in good working order, supplies more than adequate. Quiet, convenient, 2nd floor balcony, ocean view ok.
Pool & hot tub, small, clean, plenty of towels, chairs and ventilation. Great area, really enjoyed it.
Ice machines, elevators, convenient and good working order.
Parking: Underground a plus, area was well lit, safety was good & not an issue.
Location: Great, we walked across Seawall Blvd, walked the beach, seawall & fishing pier. Walked to Golden Corral next door, Jimmy Johns Sandwiches & Frozen Yogurt store.
Our age range 65+, hotel access and mobility is not a problem, common areas are clean and well lit. Will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Upper floors toward the front if a better ocean view is an issue
