“On the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

The facility amenities are very good. The pools, indoor and out, and lazy river pool are excellent. There is a spa, bar and a movie room. This is all excellent. The rooms are privately owned and you will get a mixed bag of furniture layouts. Our 3 bedroom 2 bath condo was set up for a family of five, 2 adults and 3 small children. It is not suitable for a group with more than two adults since 3 of the beds were kid size make sure you know what you are renting. Sand and Sea is the rental manager and they are pretty good. Was an issue with the number of keys the first day and that is an issue since many doors in the facility use a sensor on the key ring for access. The nearby beach is public and pretty dirty. we spent virtually all of our time around the pool. You are also away from the entertainment district of Galveston and that can be good or bad depending on your perspective. One issue we had was the guests upstairs the kids tromped through the condo and we could hear that along with the dragging furniture and toilet flushing pretty loud in our condo. Another issue is that 2 of the bedrooms had no windows and the master only had a small one out to the dining room. It made for a very dark room unless you turned on the light. The furnishings in the condo were pretty good even though I found the bed a little hard for my taste. There is a business center and our condo had wifi. It was very pricey.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what beds are in the room. Try to get a top floor room so you don't have gue...

We rented condo 406 (3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms) for Spring Break of 2013. The condo itself was very clean and modern, but a bit small for a large family. The master suite was spacious; however, the two other bedrooms were tiny with no windows and rather claustrophobic. The kitchen also had no dining room table, just 4 bar stools. On the balcony, however, was a large dining table for exterior meals but nights were too chilly to make this a comfortable option. Now, the premises were perfect for families. In addition to the amazing pool, hot tubs, water slide and lazy river, kids may enjoy the movie theater (sign up early), game room, exercise room and inside heated pool. Diamond Beach is safe and secure. Unless an individual is staying on location, gaining access to the property would be difficult, so I felt safe for my kids to wander around with some independence. My only complaint would be that there are no restrooms on the ground floor for the pool. Visitors must dress and go up to the second floor to find access to restrooms. I never saw children or many adults doing this, so my only guess is that the pool became the restroom. :o( Also, there is a bar on one end of the pool. It would be nice if the resort provided wait staff for bar service to the cabanas and pool patrons.

Room Tip: higher rooms have better view

I loved everything about Diamond Beach Resort (Unit 314). Maria the owner was great to work with and Eugene made certain I knew everything about the facility during my tour.
This Resort has everything you could ever ask for and more. The condo was decorated beautifully and the view from my balcony was breathtaking. I would recommend this resort to families or couples alike. I would definitely return again.

This resort is not short on beauty. The decor and amenities are top-notch. The resort has an enormous outdoor pool with varying depths (beach entry style to nearly 5 feet) so our 3 year old son had plenty of room to play around in an area of only 2 feet of water. The resort also has a good sized indoor pool which was perfect since it rained one day. However, if you want beach access, it is a small walk across the property to the west, through a gate and then down an embankment of sand, weeds and rocks; not the easiest manuever for a toddler (or if you have a baby jogger or wagon (like we had)).

Security on the property seemed pretty good. You need a parking garage key as well as a "badge" to "buzz" you in various aspects of the property.

You can reserve a media room (enough to seat 20 or so); a private wine room, a bar and kids play area with a TV and a handful of games and bean bags - adorably decorated of course.

The unit we stayed in was not the cleanest, but was decorated beautifully. Overall, I would come back, but would look to stay in a different unit.

We loved unit 314 at Diamond Beach Condos! The unit was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Diamond Beach Condos are located right on the beach. There are beautiful indoor and outdoor pools, a wonderful lazy river, game room and movie room. Our family had a great time playing pool and pinball in the game room. The condos are just minutes from great food. The owner of unit 314 was excellent to work. She made sure we had all of basic necessities in the unit (towels, dishes, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo etc.) We loved our stay in unit 314...we plan to make it back soon. This was a wonderful family vacation.

The condos are beautiful with amazing pools, workout room, game room, etc. The water slide was great, but only was open one of our five days we visited. However, their beach access is terrible. We had to walk through high weeds and rotting seaweed to get to the beach. The smell from the seaweed was awful. If they are going to charge $500/night then they should provide much better walkways to the beach. Also when I asked questions at the desk regarding wifi and spa services, the lady was clueless. Again, the facility itself is lovely, but dont plan on a nice walk on the beach. We won't go back!

The facility is an absolute resort with a Caribbean Hotel Resort size pool complex, cabanas, bar and grill and, of course, a wonderful, large, fast flowing, landscaped, Lazy River - particularly one with a swim-up bar. At night, kids would have a choice of an on-site movie theater or huge game room with all sorts of Pool, Foosball, Ping-Pong, Pinball etc... Mom and dad can relax at a wonderful Sports Bar/Grill. Even in winter, you can enjoy the mild weather, hot tubs and indoor pool. You can have a vacation and never leave the complex. The Condo, 314, is even better with custom luxury furnishings, full gourmet kitchen, 2 full baths, etc!!!!!! Wonderful. Anyone who has been to the Galveston area should already know the beach situation. This Resort and Galveston's food and fun is why you should come.

Room Tip: Condo 314 (Talk to or Email Maria) Is all custom furnished, great amenities and close to the Bar/G...
