“It is very nice home to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Especially during Christmas. It is on Broadway so it is difficult to park nearby but it is a very nice tour.

“Beautiful and interesting home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

It was fun to learn about the history of the Moody's in Galveston and the Moody mansion itself. Our tour guide was more rude than friendly and seemed to get aggravated when anyone in the group asked a question....even though, after going through each room in the house, she would ask if anyone had any questions!?! If it weren't for the tour guide, I'd rate this experience a 5. The house is beautifuly restored and you can feel the history as you walk through the rooms that are filled with the Moody's actual items.

“Great piece of history!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

This is a beautiful home and am glad we stopped in to see it! We bought a dual ticket for the Moody Mansion & the Bishops Palace. We didn't get to the 2nd attraction, but they said the ticket was good for a year.

The tour guide had some great knowledge of the history of Galveston, the Moody's and of course the mansion. I didn't expect the tour to take so long, but didn't notice as I was engaged the whole time. (if you're crunched for time be sure to ask how long the tour is)

They had some damage to the home during Hurricane Ike in 2008 and today you wouldn't be able to tell. They did such a wonderful job cleaning and restoring. There was flooding in the base floor, so today unfortunately, they did not have anything down there and said they never would again since everything was lost. However, it really would be nice to see some pictures of what it looked like before the flood. Fortunately for the tour though, the base floor only consists of the kitchen and utility area. All of the really great stuff is on the first and second floor so not a whole lot is lost here.

Claire was our tour guide and she did a fabulous job! I would definately visit this home again with friends & family. Oh and the tour does sell out, so be sure to call or go early if you want to see it. There was a few families turned away at 10 'till due to being sold out.
