Our family of 10, six adults and four children, brought in the new year at the Galvestonian. The weather was just awful all around us but Galveston weather allowed us to swim in the heated pool (85 degrees) enjoy the hot tub and play on the beach. We had two condos which were beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds and nice crisp linens. We have been staying at the Galvestonian for 30 years as a couple and as a family. We have never been dissapointed. The staff is friendly and always makes sure our every need is met. We have already booked another stay at the Galvestonian....the best place in Texas to play and to relax.

This was our 4th stay at the Galvestonian and it did not disappoint: clean rooms, friendly service, easy beach access, heated pool, tennis, biking, roller-blading, beautiful sunsets...you name it!!! If you are planning a vacation as a couple or a family, then this is the place for you. Just one hour from Houston, the Galvestonian is convenient and affordable. We will definitely be back!

Our Thankgiving tradition of spending the week at the Galvestonian continued for the 18th year in 2012, and our stay was incredible. We are always impressed by the friendly, helpful staff, and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail of the facility. The weather cooperated, with mild temperatures and little wind (although the lack of wind meant no surfing for our younger son!). We appreciated the new stone pathway that makes it easier to walk to the bridge over the dunes. Another great stay at our favorite getaway.

My wife and I just returned from a post Thanksgiving weekend. The unit we had was great. This is not really a hotel but rental condos that aren't occupied. Ours was very nice. The building is on a quiet beach access and has a nice pool/hot tub outside. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The only downside is that there is no restaurant or bar but even though it's on the quiet East End, you're only minutes away from the action by car. We actually enjoyed making our own breakfast in the room and enjoying a peaceful get away. One area of improvement could be the fitness center. It was rather small and not well equipped. I can't say that all the units are as good but the pictures of the available rooms were pretty true and ours was well represented by the picture on line.
