“Why WOULDN'T you stay here?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Just booked a second stay after visiting last year. Perfect location and great staff. Rosalyn helped me again with my reservation, and she actually remembered me from last year! She's the best. Units are decorated by individual owners, so it's great that you can look at pics on their site and their FB page so you can choose what suits you. I have found the units to be spotless upon arrival and just perfect for a quick visit or longer trip. Feels like home--but with a better view!

Room Tip: Check out pics on their site and on FB--or ask Rosalyn! She was really helpful.

Our family of 10, six adults and four children, brought in the new year at the Galvestonian. The weather was just awful all around us but Galveston weather allowed us to swim in the heated pool (85 degrees) enjoy the hot tub and play on the beach. We had two condos which were beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds and nice crisp linens. We have been staying at the Galvestonian for 30 years as a couple and as a family. We have never been dissapointed. The staff is friendly and always makes sure our every need is met. We have already booked another stay at the Galvestonian....the best place in Texas to play and to relax.

This was our 4th stay at the Galvestonian and it did not disappoint: clean rooms, friendly service, easy beach access, heated pool, tennis, biking, roller-blading, beautiful sunsets...you name it!!! If you are planning a vacation as a couple or a family, then this is the place for you. Just one hour from Houston, the Galvestonian is convenient and affordable. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Corner 3 bedroom rooms have 2 balconies!

Our Thankgiving tradition of spending the week at the Galvestonian continued for the 18th year in 2012, and our stay was incredible. We are always impressed by the friendly, helpful staff, and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail of the facility. The weather cooperated, with mild temperatures and little wind (although the lack of wind meant no surfing for our younger son!). We appreciated the new stone pathway that makes it easier to walk to the bridge over the dunes. Another great stay at our favorite getaway.

My wife and I just returned from a post Thanksgiving weekend. The unit we had was great. This is not really a hotel but rental condos that aren't occupied. Ours was very nice. The building is on a quiet beach access and has a nice pool/hot tub outside. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The only downside is that there is no restaurant or bar but even though it's on the quiet East End, you're only minutes away from the action by car. We actually enjoyed making our own breakfast in the room and enjoying a peaceful get away. One area of improvement could be the fitness center. It was rather small and not well equipped. I can't say that all the units are as good but the pictures of the available rooms were pretty true and ours was well represented by the picture on line.

Room Tip: Check the pictures on the web sites. Since they are owned condos the furnishings are not identical

My husband and I stayed at The Galvestonian the weekend before Thanksgiving and it was the perfect getaway for us. Our unit was exactly what we expected and more. The view of the gulf was spectacular and having perfect weather was a bonus. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We love the quietness of east beach and really appreciate the security of the premises. Can't wait to get back. Next time I'm bringing my elderly parents. It will be perfect for them. We also plan on bringing grand kids. A perfect property for all ages.

We booked a room for 3 nights. There are a few owners that rent out their condos. We went in November and it was like we had the place to ourselves. The room was very comfortable, and all rooms have a great view of the beach and ocean. We went for walks on the expansive beach every morning and night. We only saw a few other people, it was as though we owned a private beach. The weather was great and water cool but comfortable. The Galvestonian is not in town it is just east of town, so everything is very accessible. However, there is no restaurant at the condos. They do have unlimited coffee service, and the coffee was always hot and good tasting. The staff is great: friendly, cheerful, and helpful. There were almost more staff than guests!! We had one small room issue and the staff was there in minutes. When we go back we know our first choice is The Galvestonian.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views.
