“Not worth the money!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

First off, we got into our room and it smelled like a mixture of urine and smoke. I called the front office and he sent a lady with a can of air freshener.... not a good start. The bed was hard as a rock and in the middle of the night the already non-working ice maker started making a very annoying clicking sound. So that did not make for a pleasant stay. Also the area between the wall and bunk bed was filthy. It has all sorts of dust/sand/and hair - Gross! And when they say that they supply no toiletries...they mean it. Not even any hand soap for the bathroom. I will not stay at this place again. My recommendation is stay elsewhere!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and buy one of the nicer hotels on Seawall....you will spend less money and have such a nicer vacation...plus clean towels & breakfast & maid service.

The rooms and grounds were clean enough. The room did have a odd smell like maybe mold....I think they must have been damaged during the hurricane. On line it showed that our room would be about $140 a night but once we arrived they started adding in fee after fee after fee and we ended up having to pay close to $100 extra per night. Then we accidently locked our selves out carrying in our luggage and they had no spare keys so WE had to call a locksmith which was another $70 because they said they had no master key. Locksmith said that happens all the time...so maybe the owner and locksmith have a side business going. They would not supply fresh towels without an additional $10 per day fee. No coffee or filters in room and not supplied. No breakfast.

My family stays in Galveston about once a year and this is the worst stay yet and I feel like we were hugely scammed. We could have had such a nice room on Seawall for the same amount that we finally had to spend staying here.

We spent a long weekend here with family. Since each condo is individually owned, you never know what you are going to get. We stayed in not 1108 and it was great. Well decorated and stocked. The location was perfect, right on a well tended beach. The negatives: we stayed here for a family weekend. The kiddie pool (for kids under 5) was filled with pre-teen girls on a weekend retreat. The hot tubs (one of which broke while we were there) was filled with drunken fraternity guys and their dates on a formal getaway weekend. The hot tub says max bathers 8. 3 of us got in it, soon to be joined by, NO EXAGGERATION, 19 people from this fraternity party. They kept saying loudly that they could crowd us out and make us leave. When the security guard came over, we were hopeful, but he just said "Hope everyone is having a good time" and walked away. The same group spent a lot of time in the pool and on the beach using loud profanity. Made the family fun weekend a little less enjoyable for my 2 and 5 year old with their grandparents.

The furnished condo did not have simple things like WI-FI, paper towels, dish washing soap or coffee filters. There were no chairs inside so we had to bring in the plastic chairs from the balcony. The second bedroom had a bed that slid around on wheels when getting in or out and was very uncomfortable. No wifi was crazy, even McDonald's has wifi. Would not stay there again for what they charge.

Room Tip: make sure you are not near the seawall blvd because of the traffic noise,

Stayed here for one night in Feb. in unit 1204 prior to our cruise. We bid on a Galveston hotel on priceline and ended up with this dump for $152. We get there at 6 after the office is closed (flight into Houston was late) and therefore have no means by which to complain about how dirty it is and the disconnected phone. It was Mardi Gras so cabs aren't available for 1.5 hours so we walk the 1/2 block in the dark to the security desk to beg to use the phone to order pizza... the security gal was the only bright spot to our stay. The night continues with worn and faded bedding, bunk bed too short for our son so we attempt to use the hideabed...it is broken so my husband ops to sleep in a chair so my son can have a bed...crappy though it is.

The next morning when we go to check out the bill includes an additional $100.50 charge for resort fee(27.50), HOA fee(10), Travel Protection(12.50), Damage Protection(25), and Departure Fee(25.50). Isn't this what you pay for when you pay for a room to begin with? If you must stay in Galveston bite the bullet and just pay to stay at the nicest possible place as it will be cheaper than $252.78 per night for a dump.

An exceptional staff and 2303 condo owner made for a wonderful visit! Right on the beach, with a great view of the ocean and private access to wiggle your toes in the sand and surf. I enjoyed many walks on the beach. I highly recommend an extended stay in Galveston and Seascapes makes this an affordable option.

Room Tip: These are privately owned condos, so, they differ in quality. Take a look at 2303!

Booked a two-bedroom room the a beautiful view of the ocean back in April. Booked it for Thursday November 1 through Sunday November 4. On the day we were to arrive (Nov 1), we received a phone call while we were in route (4 hour travel) that there was a "maintenance issue" with the room. We were then placed in two one-bedrooms which did not make up for what we purchased. What are we to do at the last minute when you are already on the road? I called several times and asked what was going on and would the issue be resolved before the weekend is out, we were told no. They would not say what the issue was. Only that is was not able to be occupied. We went by the room and saw two pairs of tennis shoes outside the room. No one from the desk never followed up to clarify what went on. WITH A PLACE THAT HAS SO MANY RULES, we feel this was a breach of contract. I did not pay to be placed in a one-bedroom. The one bedrooms were too, too small and view we had was not the view we paid for. This place happen to be the place that was chosen for our group planned trip, so that is why the original reservations were made. NOW I KNOW WHAY I STAY IN BED & BREAKFASTS FROM NOW ON. No more hotels and condos for us--too impersonal. The only highlight was the guy in the guard shack . He came over and talked to us all the time. Will not return and would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Room Tip: Do not be fooled by the photos on the website. Rooms are small.
