“Nice facilities, Great beach access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

We stayed June 10-12 in Unit 1122. This was a 2 BR/2 bath condo w/bunk beds. We had 4 adults & (3) children under 5.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. If we could recommend one thing, would be for Seascape to provide a list of items that we needed to bring since this is not a typical hotel setting. Example, we were given 1 trash bag & each bathroom only had 1 roll of toliet paper. I went to office to ask for more toliet paper; I was told we were responsible for all of our consumables. They did end up giving us one extra roll.

Our unit has a great balacony, with an ok view. However, with this many people in the unit, we needed this size balacony. The patio table was essentially our dining table.

I know the units are individually owned, but we sure could have used a broom in our unit. The tile floors got very sandy.

The direct access to the private beach was awesome. There is a huge pool, with 2 hot tubs & 1 kiddie pool. It was so nice not to have to drive to the beach, which means we didn't get sand in our car. Yay!!

Yes, wearing the bands is annoying esp. trying to keep them on small children. But, it helps enforce the rules & identifies who is supposed to be there. The pool guards did enforce the rules. Example, we got in the hot tub that was 21 & up with kids. The guard very poliety came over & explained that this was the 21 & up area. Yes, it was a pain but i totally understand...if i was there without children I wouldn't want them in my "adult spa".

The grounds were clean. Each morning the porters were cleaning the pool & grounds.

Yes, it was a little pricey but worth the direct access to beach & awesome pool area.

Location is close to Walmart -- great for shopping or if you need to make a quick run.

The room our family got was great. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice view of the pool. The beach is clean and great for building sandcastles with the kids. The rooms can hold up to 6 people and are very comfortable. I can easily say that the Seaascape is our favorite hotel in Galveston.

We spent our second Mother's Day weekend here. We stayed in the same unit we did last time and it was still wonderful. Unit 1305 has everything you could possibly want. The kitchen is very well equiped. There was a little more beach area this time as it continues to rebuild itself after the hurricane. I really enjoy staying here, the only things I can complain about this trip is that we only had one trash bag for a two night stay with 6 people, and.....you have to wear green arm bands to show you are staying there, which is fine, but at the office they say you do not have to "wear" them as long as you have them with you, but apparently the security at the pool is not aware of this policy. My sister in law actually got in an argument with the security guard over this. The bands are very large and hard to keep on a 6 year olds arm or leg. When my sister in law told the guard what the front desk clerk told us, they basically acted as if she were lying and made her put it on my niece. We had to tie it around her bathing suit. I understand the reason behind wearing these, but they need to find different ones if they are going to be soooo strict about them, and get together on their policies. 20 minutes after those security guards went off duty, another came around and started asking everyone all over again. It was very aggravating. When you pay quite a bit of money to stay somewhere nice, you do not expect to get harrassed at the pool area. However.....as this is my only complaint I will stay here again...and this is the fault of the management not the individual owner of the unit I rented who is very nice and helpful.

Just stayed in unit 1203 from 04-19 to 04-23. Check in was easy and staff was friendly and helpful. The unit we stayed in had a great view except for a light pole interrupting what was a beautiful view of the ocean. The pool(s) and hot tubs were a great way to relax after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. Hardly anyone seemed to be staying there until Friday. They have a pretty strict policy about noise and partying so you don't have to worry about being bothered. The unit we stayed in was just right. The bunk beds were more comfy than the regular bed though. The beach was also just a few steps away. This is the main reason we picked this place, DIRECT beach access. You don't have to cross 4 lanes of traffic or deal with a bunch of people. Its very private and well worth the $$. Why "almost perfect"? The day we were checking out the elevator was broken. They didn't even bother to put an out of order sign on it you had to rely on some passerby telling you. So because I had to carry my stuff down the stairs I say its almost perfect. **Our unit did not have internet access. Other units do just make sure you check their website and pick a unit that fits your needs.**

Some other advice to keep in mind. These are condos so expect to be bringing your own stuff such as trash bags, toiletries, hangers, etc... There is a Wal-Mart a short drive away though so don't let that discourage you. Some of the reviews you see people are griping about the pettiest things. Yes, there were not enough hangers and our shower curtain didn't go the entire length of the tub. 2 of the lamps were broken and housekeeping just glued them back together. If this kind of stuff is unacceptable to you then go pay 3x as much for a 5star hotel and still have to walk across traffic or drive to get to the beach.

Room Tip: Check out their website and find a unit you like

Paid high dollar for a condo that advertizes being ON the beach. Well, there was not enough beach area to even mention. Extremely disappointed! We had to load the kids up and drive to a different part of the island to play in the sand. The condo was clean. The pool was average.

We decided to visit Galveston and wanted a Beach Front location. We found the condos on the Web and were surprised that they had avaialable units.

We stayed in a beautiful condo with lots of space and felt very comfortable. There was plenty of space and seating for us and the decor was fresh and modern. Not at all what we anticipated. OUr expectations were met and exceeded.

The staff members in the office were helpful, cheery, and informative. They guided us to places to eat and enjoy leisure activities. We did have a slight issue with a maintanence situation and reported it to the office staff. They were very prompt to fix the problem within thirty minutes. Try getting that done in most hotels... not likely.

The sight has a beautiful Pool area and hot tubs. We definately enjoyed those the most in the evening. The friendly guard would walk by on ocasion and was always cheery and nice to us.

The best part for me was sitting out on the balcony with my morning bagel and coffee watching the beautiful sunrise coming up over the waves of the Gulf. You don't want to miss this folks... I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I come to the Island.
