Multiple stays at this hotel have always yielded the same results. Less expensive than the neighboring San Louis with better rooms and a 100% professional staff. Located on the seawall with great views, swim-up bar, friendly and confrotable lobby bar, and an above average "hotel" dining room. A small mistake in reservations resulted in an upgrade for entire party. Ask for Sybill in the dining room and don't miss Shelly in the lobby bar. If you wish to stay on the seawall as opposed to the Strand, we strongly recommend this hotel. If you prefer "the strand", try the Harbor House on the pier (particularly if you are booked on a cruise out of Galveston).

This hotel while getting older is still Hilton quality. We had a room on the top floor and the view overlooking the Gulf was spectacular. Beds are comfortable and room was very clean. It still bothers me that Wifi is an extra charge. No breakfast offering but the IHOP next door is outstanding!

This hotel is probably better for families than a couple looking to get away or a business traveler. The hotel was clean but dated and a bit musty. There is a nice pool with swim up bar and its located on the seawall for easy access to the beach. Next door to one side is the convention center, and restaurants to the other. The San Luis Resort is also nearby.

My room was on the sixth floor in what appeared to be an older section. The room was spacious enough and had all the amenities you would expect from a Hilton (and a view of the ocean), but the a/c struggled with bouts of freezing cold, followed by a hot room, until the a/c kicked back on. This problem may have been remedied if the thermostat was in proper working order, but I think it was just the way the a/c worked.

The staff was very helpful and friendly and would do well to offer free wifi in rooms to all customers. I was too lowly of a Hilton Honors member to be entitled to such service, but so many hotels offer it for free it astounds me that Hilton doesn't. Even the lower brand hotels in the Hilton chain offer free wifi.

If you stay here, there is a grocery store on the opposite side of the convention center so you're within walking distance of snacks/pharmacy/starbucks. You're also within walking distance of many of the newer restaurants on the seawall.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights while traveling on business. Here are the pros. It is right across from the Galveston Convention Center which made it a great choice for me. It was clean and friendly.My room had a very pretty view of the Gulf. Here are the cons. The morning breakfast was not very good and not very organized. The walls are thin. I was able to hear the tv and laughter from the room next door to me.
Overall the hotel is average and affordable.
