“Was staying for business during the middle of spring break week...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

Pretty much sums it all up. Yikes.

It was loud everywhere and the parking lots were packed. I could sometimes hear kids speaking loudly in the hallways at night. The elevators were consistently slightly wet and the main area floor was consistently slightly wet since people were going back and forth from their rooms to the pool area.

The room always felt a little muggy b/c of the humidity and proximity to the water. Sheets felt just slightly damp and the carpet in the room felt slightly damp. Also had a wet odor. Maybe they just need to air out the rooms better....

Was a bit disappointed in the breakfast buffet. They "comped" the breakfast buffet since I am a Hilton HHonors Diamond member, but they limited it to the continental buffett and not the eggs/sausage/etc. Felt a little like a second class citizen because of that even though I spend 100+ nights a year at HIlton...

My husband, my 1 yr. old little girl and I just visited Galveston for our first family vacation. We got to the hotel a little early, around 1pm and just wanted to check in on our reservation, but the extremely helpful and friendly front desk clerk said we could check in right then. He asked if we preferred higher floor and I said yes, definitely. He gave us a room on the top floor in the "tower" right in the middle. This made for an amazing view. The view EVERYONE wants when they stay on the Seawall. The stormy ocean was so relaxing. The room was quiet and we couldn't even hear our neighbors or traffic in the hall. The storm was even muted. The room was spotlessly clean and expertly prepared. Our bellhop was so patient and helpful and unloaded everything. He also turned on the a/c to relieve some of the initial stuffiness, turned on all the lights. And he even offered to get us some ice. I was so impressed at the level of service. And the toiletries, the bathrobes and big, luxurious towels were such a nice touch. The bed was the true masterpiece of the room. I love Hilton beds and the bedding and linens were the best I've experienced so far. We ordered room service and experienced more great service. They were late bringing the refrigerator we requested up. But they apologized for the delay. The view was the best part of the room. All this for an unheard of rate we got on hotels.com. The best deal of the trip!

Room Tip: For the best view, definitely try and get a room as high up as possible in the tower.

Good location, but quite old and worn out. Not the best Hilton I stayed at, rooms rather small but clean and ok. Needs lots of renovation. Lots of families and some quite low. Breakfast ok, but service good and personell very helpful and friendly.

Will not come back again, as much as we like Hilton!

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from parking, it can get quite loud when people arrive in the middle of the n...

Service was above par. All staff was friendly and genuine. Access to beach was just across street. Beach view from window was amazing. Shares parking lot with rainforest cafe, which my children enjoyed. Breakfast buffet was great, and reasonably prices. Tip: upgrade to balcony to get full effect, its a treck from non balcony rooms to get to where you can access outside areas. The "window view" rooms are pricey already-but spring for the balcony.... It would be worth the extra cost to get the full galveston beach effect.

This hotel was a little dated and tired. The rooms were still comfortable and clean. The views were ok, basically the parking lot and street were between the hotel and beach. The pool is also located in the middle of the parking lot, but I didn't have time to check it out more. It's right in the heart of the touristy areas. Breakfast was pretty bad though, runny eggs and watered down biscutts and gravy. Overall, and average Hilton hotel, just in need of some renovation.

Very nice hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Lovely heated pool, hot tup and sauna. Unfortunately, we did not stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great view of the Gulf and also the volcano at the Rain Forest Cafe next door (Room 306). If you are over 40, you will enjoy the night life at B. Jiggles at the Holiday Inn a block away. When we got in that evening, they had left a few mints and Mardi Gras beads on our pillows, nice touch!

Room Tip: Go for the balcony view with a view of the volcano at the Rain Forest Cafe, especially if you have k...

Hotel clean, nice. Free parking while on cruise and organized shuttle to cruise ship. Getting off the ship we were told they have continuous shuttles but we had to wait 1.5hrs. Other hotel shuttles came by more frequently. They do this shuttle every weekend so I would think they would have it more organized by now.
