I surprised my husband with an overnight stay on his birthday and we loved the Harbor House Hotel! We stayed in a suite on the top floor and had the best view. It was really the best of both worlds because we got to see the harbor side of Galveston and it was only a 5 minute drive to the beach side with everything else in between. We had dinner at Nonno Tony's in the hotel and it was fantastic as well. My husband is still raving about his fresh lobster! We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast but it was available from 7-9am and there were baskets of fresh fruit in the hallways. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Not fancy, but a nice older hotel. Friendly staff, especially Linda at desk. Great location, right on the pier with a harbor view out of side window. On restaurant on the pier gave us a free apetizer for being registered there and another a free bread pudding. Free continental breakfast pretty lame, but OK. A nice surprise was their sister hotel is the luxury Hotel Galvez & Spa a couple of miles away. We were welcomed at their swimming pool and they even had a shuttle.

Thank you for the kind review on your stay at Harbor House Hotel. We are pleased to hear about the complimentary appetizer and dessert that you received at one of the Pier 21 area restaurants. As you mentioned, Harbor House guests have access to our sister hotels - Hotel Galvez & Spa and The Tremont House. Now that the summer season has ended, we offer a courtesy shuttle on weekends and upon request during the week. Thanks for choosing Harbor House.

We travel to Galveston quite often for cruise departures. Harbor House is our absolute favorite place to stay because of its incredible convenience, location and history. We love the fact that the hotel is a former warehouse and is built up extremely nice (it's very clean!). We enjoy waking up in the morning, grabbing something from the continental breakfast provided and go outside to watch the ship come into port. What a great way to meet fellow passengers!

Decided on this location as I had a late light business meeting at the restaurant next door. It was rather convenient and a sight for sore eyes after a long night but I certainly would have been gravely disappointed had I planned this stay on a weekend get away. Being a Wyndham loyalty member who typically frequents their sister property, the Hotel Galvez, the experience pales in comparison. The service, though pleasant and functional, was no frills at best. I was promptly advised that the property, despite being a member of the Wyndham family, made no consideration or recognized its loyalty members. Why not?! I wasn't expecting the Hotel Galvez, but I wasn't expecting the La Quinta either. In addition to 3 star service, expect a 3 accommodations. The room I was given reeked of stale musty mold throughout and was in need of updated carpeting. Aside from the stench being neutralized by a high blast of AC, the accommodations served their purpose. You will get a good night's sleep as the property is quiet and the beds are comfy. I would stay again simply for the sake of convenience but would pay no more than $100 per night. It's simply a crime to pay more than that. A great choice for a cruise traveler or just a day tripper who doesn't plan on spending much time in the room.

We appreciate your feedback on your stay at Harbor House. The hotel is managed by Wyndham as an independent hotel. The Harbor House is not a Wyndham brand and does not offer Wyndham Rewards. But, as you mentioned, we do have two hotels in Galveston that are Wyndham brands and offer Wyndham Rewards. Those are the Hotel Galvez and Spa and The Tremont House. Sorry again for any inconvenience. Please note that we are planning to renovate the hotel at end of the year. We hope that you will give us another try in the future.

This was my first visit to Galveston. Originally I wanted a view of the ocean, but that view would have included the very busy traffic between the hotel and beach. There was one hotel on-line that was directly on the beach, but it was really pricey. Therefore instead of booking on-line, we winged it and decided to go to Galveston without a reservation. We arrived at Galveston and took advantage of one of the attractions on our Island pass (Aquarium), then ate lunch before going on our hotel quest. The hotels beachside looked nice, but there was too much traffic, noise and congestion, so we went harbor side. I remembered seeing the Harbor House on-line, so we checked it out. They had a very nice big room - available for our 3 night stay - with a great view of the harbor! We enjoyed watching all the ships coming and going. The beds were extremely comfortable - Beauty Rests. Parking was $10 per day - great because we were able to walk to almost all the attractions we wanted to see. The Lone Star oil rig museum was just across the parking lot & The Strand shops and restaurants were only a couple blocks away. We took the Cool Tour - we just made a phone call, and they picked us up in front of the hotel. We took advantage of the free shuttle between the Harbor house and their sister hotels to get to the Seawall attractions. The only time we took the car during our stay, was to go on the free ferry ride to explore Bolivar Peninsula. The hotel staff were always interested in hearing about our Galveston adventures - all were super nice, especially Linda. On my next trip to Galveston, I will definitely stay at the Harbor House, but I'll book in advance. We were told by our Cool Tours guide (Sue) that we were really lucky to just walk in and get a room - because the Harbor House is usually booked solid most of time.

Thank you for choosing to spend your three day stay in Galveston at Harbor House Hotel. We are pleased that you enjoyed the location and the service. The hotel is in a quiet location and is the only Galveston hotel that overlooks the harbor. As you mentioned, Harbor House guests have access to sisters hotels - Hotel Galvez & Spa and The Tremont House. We look forward to your next visit.
