“Interesting if you're a tall ship fan.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

The history of the Elissa is very interesting if you're a tall ship fan and you had the opportunity to go on the ship itself. Museum was a little sparse for the size building.

“Nice walk onboard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Very nice old ship. I take the children and they love being aboard. They think they are a pirate. Plenty of room to take a tour.

“Gorgeous”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Interesting tour and museum. Also, they run tours of the Harbor (not on the Tallship). Good restaurant adjacent.

“Elissa Cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

This review depends on two things, are you just touring the vessel or are you actually going for a short sea voyage. Touring the vessel is educational and very interesting if you have not done so on a ship like this before but the real fun is being able to take her out really experience what it's like to live and operate a ship like this. If you get a chance I definitely recommend a sea voyage around the bay and gulf. You won't get to stay in one place for more than about twenty minutes before you have to move because they are tacking the ship or conducting some maneuver or another. Either way on shore or on the sea this is an experience not to be missed if you are in Galveston. Good fun and learning experience for the kids too.

“Not really worth it..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We stopped by and took the self guided tour only to find that half the ship was closed off to the public for renovations. It would have been nice to know before paying full price to go out and go through it.

It is a smaller tall ship and not really noteworthy in any way other than being old. I might be a bit jaded as the last one that I saw was the USS Constituion a couple of years ago and this is almost night and day in comparison.
