“Safe swimming and tourist info to boot!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Well trained open water life guards make sure you have a safe and fun time playing in the Gulf of Mexico. Listen for their whistle and heed their warning. Also read the info posted at every life guard tower; you'll learn a lot! Watch for the uniformed TOP (Tour Oriented Police) officers that bicycle along the Seawall. They are also highly trained beach patrol life guards that will answer your questions about other island places to explore!!

“Everyone goes - part of seeing Galveston.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Everyone goes - a part of seeing Galveston. It is crowded on the weekends - especially in the summer/vacation season. Take a stroll - take a bottle of water - shop and have a cocktail, etc. Remember - there are no public restrooms! You have to pay for parking now - but it is very affordable compared to other beaches throughout the country. The max for a day is $8.00. A year round pass is only $25.00!

“The Gulf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I walked down to the Seawall and enjoyed the ocean tremendously! Seashells for the picking. The water is wonderfully warm.

“Beach Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Kids and adults always like to walk the beach even in the heat. Kids played for a couple of hours of free entertainment.

“Well thought out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Easy to park on the seawall and you are right there on the beach. I hear that parking is paid now, but $25 for the year is reasonable. I hear the money goes for upkeep of the seawall and I cant get mad about that :-)
Portapotties are well spaced and maintained and plenty of restaurants on the other side of the seawall.
