Good time with friends, beach has lot of seashells, the water is very calm. Great beach, hassle parking.

“Peaceful or Adventurous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

I love to sit at the far end of the seawall watching the tide come in. It's great for bringing down your blood pressure. Or, if you are more adventurous, walk on the beach and find seashells, ride the waves on a board, rent a self peddling cart to ride on the seawall, fly kites, skate, there's plenty of activities to keep you occupied!

“Love to walk the Seawall!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

My husband and I just love walking the seawall and picking up shells and watching the waves and feeding the birds! A truly enjoyable experience. Hope to go back again and walk the 30 miles.

“Shallow water, small wavelets, warm enough, and scenic at night.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Reminds me of the Sea of Cortez off Baja, though it is not nearly as far to walk to get to the water (and, sadly, no tamale vendors). From our nted condo on Seawall, it was not difficult in flip-flops, to cross the street, and get down to the beach and into the water. At night, from the restaurants across the Seawall, you can see the wavelets hit the beach, making it a romantic view. At about 30th, the "Pleasure Pier" has a Ferris wheel and other attractions which might be nice for kids. The businesses run the gamut from luxury hotels and condos, restaurants, to tattoo parlors, surf equipment shops and the like. Within a block of Seawall are opportunities for the more frugal, such as a Walmart, some cheap restaurants, Dollar stores, and the like.

“Great place to hang and close to home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

There is something about Galveston that makes you relax as soon as you see the water. I own a condo in Galveston so I am probably a little predujiced. There is nothing like a walk along the seawall and there are so many things to do and places to go
