“An interesting area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

A number of galleries and historic buildings. An easy half day or more if you venture out into the surrounding streets that make up the entire area.

“Dancing in the New Year!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Great night dancing in the New Years at "The Crow" and "Two Steppin' at the Dance Hall", then chilling out at "Molly's Pub" There is so much to do and to see in Galveston. The night life is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed shopping at he cute little stores, during the day, on the Strand. Chocolate covered strawberries at the "Chocolate factory" is a must, and definately one of my guilty pleasures.

“The worth visiting historic district if that's your thing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

If you enjoy learning a little about the history of a place through the architecture the Strand is where to go in Galveston. A very nice area to walk around for a few hours with some great late buildings preserved from a century ago and simply by reading historical plaques as we walked we were able to get a feel for the history of Galveston including the great storm of the early 1900's.

“Worth the stroll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

In the many times that I've visited Galveston I've always occupied myself with Seawall activites but being that it's winter we decided to do some non water related activities. The Strand have a lot of cute shops that I enjoyed so much. I walked into a Fiestaware shop surprised at all the selections and colors of Fiestaware that I didn't know existed. Rocky Mountain chocolate shop at the La King confectionery shop are too must see places.

“Best place in Galveston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We enjoyed the shops that were open on 12/26. There's a neat nautical antique shop & miltary surplus shop. also enjoyed Elissa. Parking lot in front of Elissa only gave change in 1 dollar coins though!
