“Reminded me of New Orleans”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

The Strand is a nice place to walk and look at the old buildings. It can be hard to find a parking spot close by and you have to pay to park everywhere. It reminds me of New Orleans. All it's missing is some cajun music. The stores are nice but some of the stuff they have is junks and over priced.

“A lot of Hype”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

It's a little interesting to walk in & out of the various shops I guess.
The old buildings are fascinating to look at and the cobblestone streets. Watch out for beggars and the police love to give parking tickets so Beware. Also, in the summer... It's HOT down there.

“A Fun Way to Spend the Afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We stayed at the Tremont a block away during a trip in July 2013. The Strand hosts a number of shops with different specialties. While a few of the boast unique, affordable, and beautiful wares, many have overlapping screen-printed tees/ beach clothing/ beer and snacks.

“A little bit of everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

There is a little bit of everything. Restaurants from very casual to formal dining. Shops from unique, slightly bizzare to extravagant one of a kind. La King's Confectionery is a must! Old fashioned chocolates. candies and ice cream parlor. When you walk in you will want a taste of everything.

“Needs Bathrooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

The only public bathrooms are porta pottys. Nasty! The sweet girl at Rocky Mountain Choc Factory gave me a key to use their bathroom. Nice place to spend time and shop.
