When I initially checked in I had an issue with the price of the room. The website said 158 and some change for a family package for the festival of lights. I never got a confirmation email, but I did write the confirmation number down. When the clerk looked at my reservation the price had been changed to 177. I tried to tell her it was less when I reserved. She said it was because I didn't select 2 adults and 2 children when I booked my reservation. I told her I clicked on the package that said it included lodging, tickets, and all the other goodies for a family of four. She then told me that other customers had done the same thing and that the resort called them. I never received a call about my rate changing. If the real price is 177 they need to update their webpage because it is very confusing and frustrating for the customer. Once I finally checked in I went to my room to see if I could duplicate the same results when booking online. This time I put in 2 adults and 2 kids and it said the price was 174 when I looked at the package. I then put in 2 adults and 1 kid, which is all we had and it said 168. By my account I still got ripped off. The front desk girl didn't seem to care much that nobody had notified me of their website issue. After all that we went to the festival, which was very nice. Then we came back to the room around 8:30 and ordered a pizza from room service. They brought our pizza at the said time. They also brought us dirty plates. The server saw them and said he would get more. So we had to wait for plates. He finally came with more and they were also dirty. He was apologetic and got us plates for a 3rd time. He did bring us some pecan pie as a peace offering, which was appreciated. Makes me wonder how clean things are in the kitchen though. This morning we had the special "holiday" breakfast included in our package. It's not exactly what you think it is. They give you a $32 voucher off your meal for room service or their restaurant. The prices are pretty much the same so we did room service. We ordered the american, health club breakfast, and oatmeal and it was 37. I don't know how they figure this will cover breakfast for 4. When you say "holiday" breakfast I picture holiday decor and Santa. This was a basic breakfast. My husband said his eggs were warm at best and the toast wasn't even really toasted. Now to the cleanliness. The bathtub had dirt in it. When I went to take a shower this morning I saw a pool of dirt going down the drain. Also, their keurig was nasty. I went to make some coffee in it and the place where you put water in had brown in it. Obviously, nobody cleans the inside of those things. This was my first stay here and I found it to be a very lackluster type of experience. I expected great service and rooms, but feel they fell very short. Next time I will stick to our usual spot in Galveston.
