“Gone downhill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We were last here a couple of years ago and it has certainly gone downhill since then. It is showing signs of wear. Of course the location is great, right across from the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby as well as the Pleasure Pier. The beds are still very comfortable. But I think the place has started penny pinching. There were no toiletries in the room, just not-very-nice dispensers in the shower. I had to call and ask for a shower-cap as I didn't think I needed to bring one. I also had to ask for tea-bags and cream as it didn't look like these had been restocked in the room. We were put off by a big noisy group in the bar, so noisy that I could hardly hear the receptionists speak, although of course this was not the hotel's fault. The receptionists were very pleasant and helpful. It would be nice to have complimentary bottles of water in the room and some kind of continental breakfast, but there were neither of these.

I am very disappointed that you did not have a o excuse, but I admit we are nearly complete in getting back to a first class facility as far as the building is concerned. I have shared your feedback as to your housekeeping stayover service was not up to par. It is standard to restock the coffee/tea service and water every day of your stay. I would like to invite you back to visit us again.

We were visiting Galveston and chose the Four Points again. One big change since my last review was the opening of the "Pleasure Pier" which is basically just down the block. Very convenient if that is on your agenda. The staff was pleasant and helpful and we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the beach. You can't complain about that. We had plenty of room and we slept well although we did notice a regular knocking in the night which might have been some equipment in the hall but not overly annoying. Since parking for the pleasure pier is sometimes a problem, they gave us a "ticket" to identify our car. Our stay was brief but pleasurable.

Room Tip: Most rooms offer a glimpse of the beach but that is all

Stayed at this hotel the week of Spring Break, best sleep I've ever had in my life! Literally went home and researched what mattresses they use in their rooms! Great views and the beach was only a few feet away. Loved it!

First off, the room was immaculate. The room was nicely furnished and the beds were super comfortable. The hotel is across the street from the beach and a short walk to the Pleasure Pier. We did skip the breakfast and instead tried various establishments along the beach. The staff here is first class. I had purchased on-line tickets and needed to print them out. Unfortunately, the printer at the workstation was down, so the staff had me forward the file to their reservation desk, and they printed them out for me. Saved the day.

The wireless service worked like a charm and we were on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel.

This is where we will stay next time we are in Galveston.

Small room with a view of a big red wall. Carpets and bathrooms dirty wear slippers. More a motel than a hotel. Save your money on breakfast and go elsewhere. Internet drops in and out. Restaurant closes early, not as advertised. Bums walking around the parking lot and no security.

Room Tip: Newer hotels around 61st street. Safer area too.

We appreciate the feedback. We are located in a updated part of the seawall. I feel the Galveston Police department does a great job keeping the peace. I also understand that we do have a few rooms that do face our Meeting Room facilities. We have been very business after the summer season getting things back to tip top shape. We have been painting, deep cleaning, carpets shampooed, fixing items that we did not have a chance to during the peak season. We have had our internet upgraded with new access points and protection to much improved the internet signal. I challenge you to return to visit us again. If you look at our other reviews we pride ourselves in service and well as our product. We know that a beach hotel has a tremendous amount of wear and tear. I do hope you return.

This hotel is right across the street from the beach, which was awesome. It is, however, the gulf, so it's not that pretty. It still has the beach town feeling, nonetheless. Lots of food and hotel options up and down Seawall avenue, but this one is right across from Bubba Gump restaurant and has a great view of the boardwalk and rides. Great view at night when the ferriswheel is all lit up.

The beds were comfortable, showers clean. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner because what they offer is in a dispenser in the shower and has NO SMELL. #firstworldproblem

There is a "bar", or counter with alcohol behind it, that is open till 10pm.
There is a small pool and it was packed. We were only there for one evening and didn't spend too much time in the room.

The remote for the AC is on the AC. Our TV remote was bad, so my husband got it switched at the front desk seamlessly.

Great review although we should have caught the bad remote in the room. My sincere apology for that, but I am glad we were able to recover very quickly. We know things will go wrong from time to time, but it is how we respond to those issues is key to service.

This was a nice place to stay. You can walk across the street to go on the beach. They advertise free bottled water. You do get that but you only get one 8oz bottle a day. Then you have to share the one you receive. I can understand limiting the amount you get but a couple of bottles each a day makes more sense.

We do have a great location with many options for souvenirs, dining, and fun. We will look into providing more water in the room and we currently resupply the room each night of your stay. We thank you for your business and hope to see you again.
