We chose the Hotel Galvez for our 30th anniversary because of it's historic status and the location. When we made the reservation, we informed them that it would be our 30th anniversary. We were given an excellent, gulf view room for a discounted price, which we greatly appreciated. When we called a week prior to the trip to confirm, we again told them it would be our 30th anniversary. Not that we should expect anything special in addition to the room upgrade, but we were disappointed that there was no mention of our special occasion when we checked in or throughout our stay. Maybe times have changed. We also tried several times prior to our arrival to contact the consierge and never received a call back. Only one time during our stay did we see anyone at the consierge desk. The only other negative comment would be that the linens could have been of a higher quality & not smelled so strongly of bleach. We did not eat at the restaurant and did not use the pool or hot tub because of the weather, but it all looked very nice. We were treated to a little extra history by David McKinney in Security, which we enjoyed. Overall, we were pleased with our stay at the Hotel Galvez and would recommend it to others.

Let's start with the valet service, they are so up to par with treating you like you are at a 4 star hotel for sure. They greet you and carry your luggage, it's $17/night for valet service and it's unlimited, so you can request your car unlimited times for the night you are paying. If you want to do self pay there is a parking garage across the street. Walking in to the grand entrance the atmosphere was very elegant and you are greeted by a pianist which is kinda nice. There are beautiful seating areas to overlook the ocean. Checking in was a breeze, we stayed on the 4th floor, the room was TINY. That was a major let down, the room had 2 double beds and a nice size TV. Internet is free which is a nice perk. The room does have a safe but NO FRIDGE. No balcony. I took my kids with me this time and they were able to get in the pool which is heated, and the hot tub. The pool area is beautiful and has a very romantic ambience. The bar at the pool was not open this time. But normally they do have a nice swim up bar. We walked to the pleasure pier which is about 4 blocks from the hotel. The hotel also has bikes for the guests to use on the strand. The hotel is older, but it still a classic. Very nice experience. Staying here for this New YEar! Pics to come.
