We were looking for a relaxing getaway for a couple of days, and quickly chose the Galvez. It is historic, refined, situated on the beach and really no more expensive than many lesser hotels in the area. We avoided the pricey valet parking and self-parked in the private parking garage across the street at no cost...your room key gives you access. The rooms are not very large, but very comfortable with quality furnishings & bedding. We picked a room with a "partial ocean view"...that's why we went to the coast after all! The lobby bar was a nice spot to sit & people watch while having a drink and appetizers. Our three day visit was too quickly over, but we look forward to returning soon.

Spent 3 nights over Thanksgiving Holiday, and was very pleased with all aspects. Room understandably a bit small considering age, put designed with modern bath and room. The thanksgiving buffet spread was the best I have encountered for variety, quality and staff. Had breakfast on our last morning and it was more than adequate and delivered cooked as requested. My partner took advantage of the spa and in her words "a relaxing and totally satisfying facial and pedicure. Staff in every area of services were outstanding, both in personality and attention to detail. This one rates a return trip sometime soon.

No tv service first night, had to call several times to get fix,other nights okay, no follow up from staff, parents also stayed and had some room problems, spa service was awesome, shower a little dangerous cause too tall of step to get out of

The hotel is historic, elegant and was tastefully decorated for the holidays. We enjoyed breakfasts in the dining area, and my massage with Georgia in the spa was divine. Customer service t hroughout the hotel was friendly and helpful. Our room, with a "limited gulf view" was small but very comfortable and well appointed. The location was perfect for morning walks along the water, a one-mile walk to the Strand and a short walk to the Pleasure Pier (closed during our mid-week visit). Perfect location for a very relaxing retreat this time of year.
