This interesting old home offers a fascinating glimpse of the history of coastal Texas. George Fulton was a Texas revolutionary, an engineer, a railroad man, and a cattleman. The construction methods he used in this home were ahead of their time, which is why it has withstood so many storms and hurricanes. The mansion is currently closed for renovation, but they did a great job on the exhibits and presentations at the visitor's center so we still got a glimpse of what the inside of the house is like. You can walk around the exterior and the garden as much as you want. Well worth a stop, and I hope to return when it reopens.
