“Great Room at a Great Price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

After years of wondering what all of the fuss was about, I finally had the pleasure of visiting Fredericksburg about a month ago. At the recommendation of a friend, I stayed at the Econo Lodge off Adams Street. I will definitely be taking more advice from this friend. Complimentary coffee, tea, and fresh baked German pastries? Check! Brochures and helpful recommendations from front desk staff on local attractions/restaurants/wineries/etc.? Double Check! The room was nicely decorated and felt like home. Complimentary HBO and wifi was also a nice touch. Loved the hot tub on the cooler nights. The Adams street location worked out better than expected, as it runs perpendicular with the overly crowded Main Street, making for a quieter and more enjoyable stay.

One last bonus...The Econo Lodge is just a short stroll from The Peach Tree, a hidden gem of Fredericksburg and home to one of the best Quiche Lorraine's I've ever tasted. I would not have changed a thing on my short trip to Fredericksburg, and would recommend the Econo Lodge to anyone I know.

This is a nice, older, small motel near downtown Fredericksburg. The lady who checked me in was very friendly. The room was clean and as a bonus one can park the car right outside the room. The price charged was also quite reasonable.

I travel several times a month for business and always look for the most comfortable, cheap hotel I can find with cleanliness high on the list. This hotel is by far the best place I've ever found for the price. The friendly staff treats you like a true guest. The rooms very clean and comfortable. I've stayed at this particular hotel several times and am always amazed. The grab and go breakfast consists of fresh German pastries that are to die for! I highly recommend this location to any traveler.

Room Tip: Room 121 has some noise from a water heater or possibly an air conditioner. I will request not to h...

This is essentially a simple, $60 motel room, for which we paid more than twice as much ($126 including taxes). I suppose the price is a bit high for what you get because Fredericksburg is a popular destination, especially on weekends.

The breakfast in the lobby was fairly basic too. Not too much room to sit, though. We tried to sit at the tables outside, but the other guests sitting and smoking next to the "no-smoking" signs brought us back in again.

Don't expect new and modern here. It's a 1970's motel, a little rustic, but it works fine for a short stay. It's easy to find and only a few minutes from Main Street.

I checked into this hotel at 9am.... Yuppp... 9am. I merely called and spoke to Ms. Ruby at the desk and was treated in the fashion we ALL wish to be treated. BTW, we also need to address the BS deals offered by Choice Hotels. I have stayed and stayed and stayed, each time believing they would do the "right/offered" thing.

Ruby even spoke to the )(**^'s and I still did not get my free night. Regardless, read the small print and STAY AT THIS HOTEL ANY TIME YOU CAN.... they do as they say...

Room Tip: very small and quaint hotel

The purpose of THIS stay was because I didn't want to drive the WHOLE distance between El Paso and Austin in one sitting.( I didn't know about the German related tourist attractions in Fredericksburg).
Online this property looked like it best suited my BASIC needs (which is see above), for under $70 . Upon my arrival I found the room CLEAN with ALL the bsasic needs. An interesting feature was a mini fridge that doubled for an endtable (and /or laptop stand), for the biggest oveverstuffed chair I've ever seen in a hotel (#123) room. The bed was a little firmer than the waterbed I keep at home, (no big deal).
I don't do hotel breakfasts ,so look somewhere else for an opionion on that.
The ONLY criticism I have is on left turn arrival/departures, is that sight lines can be a problem although there is a left turn ONLY lane.

Room Tip: For 3hrs of watching TV and 1 night sleep, for the price it's a great value.

This is a basic motel. Clean, safe and close to downtown shopping and attractions. Will definately stay here again. Good value for the price. It's an Econo Lodge. Keep that in mind and you will not be disappointed.
